Press the SCAN button once to
scan each track on an audio CD,
or the first 10 seconds of each
track on each folder of a MP3 CD.

Press the SCAN button again to
select 'SCAN OFF' (audio CD), or
in the case of MP3 to scan each
track within a folder.
Sony 6CD Generation 2
•
Press the SCAN button once to
scan the first track of each CD
loaded.
•
Press the SCAN button again to
scan all tracks on the CD currently
playing.
•
If an MP3 CD is loaded you have
the option of scanning the folder.
Sony CD/6CD Generation 1
When selected, the track being
played flashes in the display. Scan
playback continues until the SCAN
button is pressed again.
•
Press the SCAN button to scan
each track on an Audio or MP3
CD.
•
Press the SCAN button twice to
scan the first track of each folder
on an MP3 CD.
•
For the 6CD unit, press the SCAN
button twice to scan each track
on all Audio CDs loaded in the CD
mechanism.
Except Sony CD/6CD
When selected, ‘SCAN’ appears
briefly in the display at the start of
each track.
•
Press the MENU button
repeatedly until a ‘SCAN’ display
appears.
•
Use the left or right arrow button
to select between 'SCAN CD' and
'SCAN ALL'.
•
Press the left or right arrow button
again to continue listening to a
track.
MP3 FILE PLAYBACK
Sony 6CD Generation 2 and
all Sony CD
MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer-3) is a
standard technology and format for
compressing audio data. This allows
a more efficient use of the media.
You can play MP3 files recorded on
CD-ROMs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs. The
disc must be in the ISO 9660 level 1
or level 2 format, or Joliet or Romeo
in the expansion format. You can also
use a disc recorded in Multi Session.
ISO 9660 format
This is the most common
international standard for the logical
format of files and folders on a
CD-ROM.
