Inbetriebnahme
Vor dem Anschluss des Scarlett 18i6 am Computer muss die Software installiert werden. Dadurch wird sichergestellt, dass die
richtigen Treiber verwendet werden und einen sicheren Betrieb gewährleisten.
Anmerkung zu USB-Hubs
Scarlett 18i6 ist ein USB 2.0-Gerät und muss über einen kompatiblen USB 2.0-Port angeschlossen werden. Bei Anschluss über
einen USB 2.0-Hub müssen alle übrigen Geräte an diesem Hub ebenfalls USB 2.0-kompatibel sein. Wenn ein USB 1.0/1.1-Gerät
angeschlossen wird, arbeitet der Hub automatisch mit niedriger Datenrate und Scarlett 18i6 kann nicht korrekt arbeiten.
Scarlett 18i6 belegt einen beträchtlichen Anteil der USB-Bandbreite (der Datenmenge, die über USB übertragen wird). Beim Betrieb
über einen USB-Hub können weitere Geräte an diesem Hub die Leistung des Scarlett 18i6 beeinträchtigen. Wenn z. B. eine USB
2.0-Festplatte zur Wiedergabe der Audiodaten benutzt wird (wobei ebenfalls große Datenmengen übertragen werden), sollte sie
nicht am selben Hub wie Scarlett 18i6 angeschlossen werden. Daher empehlt es sich, Scarlett 18i6, wenn möglich, direkt an einen
USB-Port des Computers anzuschließen und nicht über einen USB-Hub zu betreiben.
Stromversorgung für Scarlett 18i6
Zum Betrieb muss Scarlett 18i6 an das mitgelieferte Netzteil angeschlossen werden: Eine Spannungsversorgung über den USB-
Bus reicht nicht aus. Die analogen und digitalen Schaltungen benötigen mehr Leistung, als der USB-Standard zur Verfügung stellt.
