18. Mudguard
The mudguard is tted with a safety fastening in
case an object jams between the mudguard and
the tyre. This releases the mudguard from its
holder to prevent a fall.
You must stop riding immediately if a foreign body
is trapped between the tyre and the mudguard.
Remove the foreign object before beginning to
riding again. Otherwise, there is a risk of a fall and
serious injuries.
You may under no circumstances drive
with a loose mudguard strut, as the strut
may jam in the wheel and block it. The
loose ends of the holders may lead to
serious accidents.
Damaged mudguards must be replaced by a
FLYER specialist retailer before riding again. You
should also regularly check whether the braces
are xed securely in the safety releases.
19. Accessories and
equipment
Appropriate installation of accessories and check-
ing their compatibility with the FLYER are the re-
sponsibility of the cyclist/buyer. Only accessories
listed in the FLYER catalogue are approved for use
with the FLYER by Biketec AG. Check the relevant
accessories for compatibility with your FLYER
model and consider their technical specications
(e.g. maximum load, installation instructions, etc.)
Always install accessories according to
the regulations and instructions.
Only use add-on parts that comply
with the respective legal regulations
and road trafc regulations.
The use of unauthorised accessories
may lead to accidents, severe falls
and damage. You should therefore
only use original accessories and
add-on parts which t your FLYER.
If inappropriate accessories are used,
the warranty and/or guarantee may be-
come void.
Biketec AG cannot be held liable in con-
nection with the use of unauthorised ac-
cessories.
The installation of accessories might
damage the paint work.
The frame, battery or components may
not be changed and no holes may be
drilled into them in order to attach acces-
sories.
19.1 Transporting children/child
seats
The safe transport of children is the responsibility
of the cyclist. Biketec AG cannot be held liable in
connection with the transport of children and the
resulting risks.
You are only permitted to install a child
seat if the corresponding holders for
such a seat exist on the luggage rack.
Please note the permitted maximum car-
rying capacity of the luggage rack as well
as the permitted overall weight of the ve-
hicle (see Chapter 23 “Technical data”.
If you are riding a TX-series e-bike, you
should never install a child seat on the
luggage carrier as these bikes are not
designed for child seats.
Please obtain information regarding the
national regulations concerning the mini-
mum driving age as well as the minimum
and maximum age of an accompanying
child.
Only use child seats that comply with
the valid legal requirements. Using
unpermitted child seats can lead to
serious falls and injuries.
Ensure that the child’s feet are sup-
ported in the child seat.
You should never leave children unat-
tended in the child seat of a parked e-
bike. If the e-bike falls over, your child
may be seriously injured.
Child seats may not be attached to
the handlebars, the frame or the seat
post. Otherwise you will no longer be
able to safely steer the e-bike.
