The battery charge status display for your
FLYER Battery can be displayed in “Ride” (r9) op-
erating mode or with status display s7.
Each of the bars in the display corresponds to
around 20% of capacity.
The battery is fully charged.
The battery should be topped up.
There is no longer sufcient energy avail-
able for drive system support and support
will be gradually decreased. The remain-
ing energy is being used for the cycle
lighting and the on-board computer.
The Nyon has not yet been put in its
holder or it has been reset to its factory
settings.
Nyon has its own battery. The charge status for
this can be seen in display s1.
Power supply
If your Nyon is in its holder on your FLYER, it is
being supplied with power from the sufciently
charged battery on your FLYER e-bike.
If your Nyon is not in its holder it draws its power
from its own Nyon battery. Further details of how
the Nyon battery is charged can be read in the
enclosed drive manufacturer's operating manual.
The pushing aid/start-up aid is switched on and
off with the “Walk” button 17.
The cycle lights can be switched on and off with
button 6. The lighting symbol s1 appears when
the lighting is switched on.
If a fault should occur in the e-bike system com-
ponents, an error code appears in the display.
Please read the original operating instructions
enclosed to the Bosch Drive Unit/Nyon.
If an error code should appear, have the
system examined by an authorised
FLYER dealer and repaired if necessary.
Nylon reset
By pressing buttons 1, 2, 5 and 6 simultaneously,
you can reset your Nyon if it is no longer respond-
ing. However, you should be aware that this may
result in many settings being lost.
The option is available of extending the standard
functions of the “Nyon” operating system by pur-
chasing “Premium functions”.
6. Legal requirements
However, the rules and regulations for e-
bikes are constantly being revised and
changed. Stay informed about changes in
legislation in order to remain up-to-date.
For pedelecs and e-bikes, special provisions apply
for their limit of use. This means that e-bikes are
partly operated like a bicycle and other times not.
Before riding on public roads with yourFLYER,
inform yourself on the current legal requirements
enforced in your country.
This information can be found at your FLYER re-
tail store, the respective national bike or e-bike
associations and online.
Here you can gather information on how your
FLYER must be equipped in order to ride it on
public roads.
The lighting system required to be installed or car-
ried with you is also described. You will also be
informed on which brakes the bike needs to be
equipped with.
By reading the national legislation, you can also
obtain information about the current age required
to ride the bike and where it is allowed or must be
ridden. The regulations for children riding on pub-
lic roads are also found here. It will be made clear
if a helmet is required to be worn by law.
Check whether your private third-party-
liability insurance covers possible dam-
age caused by using a FLYER e-bike.
7. Intended use
The FLYER is intended for transporting
one person only. Carrying a second
person is only allowed within the con-
text of the respectively applicable na-
tional legislation (children in a child seat
or trailers designed for this purpose,
see chapter 19.1).
Carrying luggage is only permitted with appropri-
ate equipment tted on the FLYER. The maximum
carrying capacity of the luggage rack as well as
the maximum permitted weight of the vehicle may
not be exceeded (see Chapter 23 “Technical data.
Permitted overall weight:
Driver weight + FLYER weight + battery
weight + luggage weight + trailer weight
If your e-bike, city bike or trekking bike (B-Se-
rie, TS-Serie, TX-Serie) has been built according
to national standards, it may be taken on uneven
terrain, i.e. dirt roads.
