nally dealt with. The guidelines for servicing and
care must also be observed in order to retain lia-

towithstandextremeuse,e.g.ridingdownstairs
or over jumps, performing tricks or stunts, or ta-

Before riding on public roads with your FLYER,
inform yourself about the current riding regula-
tions in your country. Only ride on pathways and
trails that are permitted for vehicles.
If you own a fast FLYER city bike with assistance
up to 45 km/h, then please read the S-pedelec

9.1 RidingyourE-MTBresponsibly
When you are out on your FLYER E-MTB, make
sure to ride responsibly and consider nature, the
environment and your fellow humans.
Considerate actions preserve the natural en-
vironment in which you practise your sport and
ensureconict-freeinteractionswithotherusers.
Therefore, please observe the following rules:
Only ride on marked paths so as not to dam-
age the natural environment. Accept route clo-
sures, riding bans and wildlife protection areas
astheyexistforareason.
Only brake with locking wheels in an emergen-
cy, as this can cause soil erosion and damage
to paths.
Ride in a controlled and careful manner at an
appropriate speed. You must always be able to
brake within your range of vision in case obsta-
cles, other bikers or pedestrians appear.
Announce your presence in good time if you
wish to overtake someone else. Do not sur-
prise them and pass them slowly or brake.
Look out for grazing animals and animals in
forests and elds. Do not leave any country
gates open if you pass through them and do
not ride in the forest after dark so as not to dis-
turb animals looking for food or sleeping.
Plan your tour thoroughly and observe the
weather forecast. Be aware of your capabilities,
take them into account when choosing a route
and take all necessary equipment with you. This
includestools, provisionsand arst-aidkit for
unexpectedsituations.Wearappropriateequip-
ment (helmet, protectors) for your safety.
Do not leave behind any rubbish.
Wear protectors and a helmet for your
safety.
Keep body parts and clothing away from
chain rings, the moving chain and rotat-
ing pedals, cranks and gears.
Wear light-coloured, clearly visible cloth-
ingthatissu󰀩cientlyclose-ttingsoas
not to get caught on moving parts of the
bike or on objects on the road or trail.
10. Beforetherstride
Ensure that the E-Bike is ready for use and ad-
justedtotyourbody.
This includes:
Settingthepositionandxtureoftheseatand
handlebars
Adjusting the brakes
Securing the wheels into the frame and fork
Any parts that are not supplied already assem-
bled should be tted by a FLYER specialist re-
tailer.
Have the saddle set to a safe and comfortable
position (see Chapter 13.2).
Have the brake handles set by the FLYER special-
ist retailer so that you can reach them easily at all
times and can use the brake without getting tired.
Be sure to familiarise yourself with the brake le-
vers connected to the front and back wheels – the
left brake lever is usually for the front wheel and
the right lever is usually for the back one! Howev-
