Clamp the grease pan (22a) into the holder. When grilling,
excess grease accumulates on the bottom of the grill and
runs into the grease pan.
17. Place the black painted lavastone grate (24) on the lower
holders in the pan. Distribute the lava stones (25) evenly
in a single layer on the lavastone grate. For best grilling
results the grate should be covered to approximately
7080 %.
Place the grill rack (26) on the upper holders in the grill pan
(see Fig. 17).
18. Clamp the warming grate (27) into the holes on the lid and
in the grill pan as shown in Fig. 18.
Mounting the gas hose
Regarding Fig. 19:
Depending on national regulations, there are two ways to
connect the gas hose (28) to the grill. First take the protective
cap off the gas connection (11) if present.
Method 1:
Firmly screw one end of the gas hose (28) onto the gas con-
nection (11) (left-hand threading). Do not use an extra gasket!
Tighten the gas hose union nut securely using a size 17 span-
ner; at the same time hold the gas connection in place with
pliers or a second size 17 spanner.
Method 2:
Run a hose clamp of the right size a few centimetres over
the loose end of the gas hose (28). Then slide this end onto
the gas connection (11) (wet the gas connection somewhat to
facilitate sliding onto the hose). Fix the connection with the
hose clamp.
Connect the other end of the gas hose (28) with the pressure
regulator included (29).
Separate instruction manuals are included with the gas hose
(28) and the pressure regulator (29). Follow these instructions
very closely when you connect the pressure regulator (29) to the
gas hose and gas container (the figures may differ for the hose,
pressure regulator and gas container depending on the respec-
tive national standards).
Lay the hose so that it is not kinked or twisted.
Attaching the textile cover
Attach the textile cover (32) to the two front support legs as
shown in Fig. 21.
Setting up the grill
Attention Risk of damage!
Any screwed connections may gradually loosen dur-
ing use and affect the stability of the grill.
Before you use the unit, always check to make sure the
screws are secure. If applicable, tighten all screws again to
ensure that the grill is stable.
1. Before use, place the grill on a level, solid base located
outdoors.
2. Place the gas container next to or behind the grill and do not
in any case place it on the support under the grill.
3. Check the gas container and the connections for leaks (see
chapter “Checking for gas leaks”).
4. Check the grill burner for any blockages if you have not used
the barbecue for a prolonged period of time.
Connecting the gas container
You will need a conventional, full container propane or butane
gas to operate this grill.
Note: Depending on national standards, the figures may
differfor the hose, pressure regulator and gas contai-
ner. If necessary, replace the hose if this is required by
national regulations.
Danger Risk of fire/explosion/poisoning!
Leaking gas may form a highly explosive air/gas mix-
ture that could cause a fire or explosion and could
result in life-threatening injuries or death.
Never connect the gas supply to the gas grill without a pres-
sure regulator that corresponds to the country-specific pres-
sure.
Use only one hose between the gas bottle and the grill; hose
should not exceed the recommended length of 1.50 m.
Make sure that the gas hose has been firmly mounted and that
the hose connection is always accessible along its entire length.
1. Turn both temperature controls to the position (Off).
2. Make sure that the gas container valve (30) of the gas con-
tainer is closed.
3. Screw the safety cap (if present) off of the container valve
threading.
4. Check whether the gasket of the container valve threading is
present and that it is in good condition. Do not use any extra
gaskets!
5. Screw the pressure regulator (29) onto the container valve
threading as described in the instruction manual, which is
enclosed with the pressure regulator.
6. Lay the gas hose so that it does not kink or twist.
7. Check all connections for gas leaks (see section “Checking
for gas leaks”).
Checking for gas leaks
1. Turn both temperature controls to the position (Off).
2. Open the container valve.
3. Rub all screw connections and the gas hose with soap wa-
ter. If bubbles form, a connection is loose or the gas hose is
cracked and may no longer be used.
Do not use the grill, but immediately close the container
valve on the gas container.
4. Check the screw connections and if applicable, tighten them
more. Then repeat the check.
