Explanation of the symbols
Read instructions carefully.
In accordance with essential applicable safety
standards of European directives.
Denotes risk of personal injury, loss of life or damage to
the tool in case of non-observance of the instructions in
this manual.
Indicates electrical shock hazard.
Immediately unplug the plug from the mains electricity
in the case that the cord gets damaged and during
maintenance.
Keep bystanders away.
Wear ear and eye protection.
Faulty and/or discarded electrical or electronic
apparatus have to be collected at the appropriate
recycling locations.
Check the following things before using the machine
• does the voltage of the machine correspond with the mains
voltage (230 or 400 V);
• an earthed mains connection (wall socket) needs to be
used;
• are the mains lead and the mains plug in a good condition:
solid, without any loose ends or damage;
• see if the sawband does not miss any tooth or if it is torn or
cracked. This sawband has to be replaced immediately;
• is the bandsaw sufficiently tightened;
• check the voltage of the bandsaw again after first time
sawing with a new bandsaw.
• Read and understand the entire instruction manual before
operating machine.
• Always wear approved safety glasses/face shields while using
this machine.
• Make certain the machine is properly grounded.
• Before operating the machine, remove tie, rings, watches,
other jewelry, and role up sleeves above the elbows. Remove
all loose clothing and confine long hair. Do not wear gloves.
• Keep the floor around the machine clean and free of scrap
material, oil and grease.
• Keep machine guards in place at all times when the machine is
in use. If removed for maintenance purposes, use extreme
caution and replace the guards immediately.
• Do not over reach. Maintain a balanced stance at all times so
that you do not fall or lean against blades or other moving parts.
• Make all machine adjustments or maintenance with the
machine unplugged from the power source.
• Use the right tool. Don’t force a tool or attachment to do a job
which it was not designed for.
• Make certain the motor switch is in the offposition before
connecting the machine to the power supply.
• Give your work undivided attention. Looking around, carrying
on a conversation, and “horse-play” are careless acts that can
result in serious injury.
• Keep visitors a safe distance from the work area.
• Use recommended accessories; improper accessories may be
hazardous.
• Make a habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting
wrenches are removed before turning on the machine.
• Always keep hands and fingers away from the blade when the
machine is running.
• Never hold the material with the saw in the horizontal position.
Always use the vise and clamp it securely.
• Read and understand warnings posted on the machine.
• Keep the belt guard and wheel covers in place and in working
order.
• Always provide adequate support for long and heavy material.
• Use a sharp blade and keep machine clean for best and safest
performance.
• This machine is only used for horizontal metal cutting, not
vertical woodworking cutting.
• Failure to comply with all of these warnings may cause serious
injury.
• The band saw machine must be firmly positioned with all four
legs on a flat, even surface.
• Never apply lateral pressure to the saw band. This can cause it
to break.
• Be careful when working with irregularly shaped, harder metal
workpieces.
Sawing of these workpieces can lead to jamming of the
machine.
• Never leave the saw machine unattended when in operation.
• The saw band moves on the workpiece from left to right. The
teeth of the saw band must be pointing to the right.
• Close all the screening caps in the correct way.
• Position the saw arm before you begin sawing.
• Position the saw band guide in the correct place before you
begin sawing and fasten it properly. This ensures an accurate
sawing method.
• Adjust the sawing speed before you connect the saw machine
to the 230/400 Volt mains.
• Stop the machine before you place a workpiece in the
workpiece clamp.
• Check the level of the cooling fluid regularly. The saw band can
