Regularly clean the power tool’s air vents. The motor’s fan
will draw the dust inside the housing and excessive accu-
mulation of powdered metal may cause electrical haz-
ards.
Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials.
Sparks could ignite these materials.
Do not jam the diamond wheel or apply excessive pressure.
Do not attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Over-
stressing the diamond wheel increases the loading and
susceptibility to twisting or binding of the wheel in the
cut and the possibility of kickback or wheel breakage.
Do not position your body in front and behind the rotating
diamond wheel. When moving the diamond wheel in the
work piece away from yourself, the possible kickback
may propel the power tool with the spinning wheel
directly at you.
If the diamond wheel should become jammed or when inter-
rupting work, switch the power tool off and hold it motion-
less until the wheel has come to a complete stop. Never
attempt to remove a still running diamond wheel from the
cut, otherwise kickback may occur. Determine and cor-
rect the cause for the jamming.
Do not switch the power tool on again as long as the wheel
is still in the work piece. Allow the diamond wheel to reach
its full speed first before carefully continuing with the cut.
Otherwise the wheel can bind, be forced out of the work
piece or cause kickback.
Use extra caution when making a “pocket cut” into existing
walls or other blind areas. The protruding diamond wheel
may cut gas or water pipes, electrical wiring or objects
that can cause kickback.
Make sure that the application tools are mounted in accord-
ance with the manufacturers instructions. The mounted
application tools must be able to rotate freely. Incorrectly
mounted application tools can become loose during
operation and be thrown from the machine.
Handle diamond wheels carefully and store them according
to the manufacturer’s instructions. Damaged diamond
wheels can develop cracks and burst during operation.
Do not machine any material containing asbestos. Asbestos
is cancerogenic.
Beware of any concealed electric cables, gas or water con-
duits; check the working area with a metal detector, for
example, before commencing work.
Use a dust extraction system, blow out ventilation slots fre-
quently and connect a residual current device (RCD) on the
line side. When working metal under extreme operating
conditions, it is possible for conductive dust to settle in
the interior of the power tool. The total insulation of the
power tool can be impaired.
Do not rivet or screw any name-plates or signs onto the
power tool. If the insulation is damaged, protection against
an electric shock will be ineffective. Adhesive labels are
recommended.
Always work using the auxiliary handle. The auxiliary han-
dle ensures reliable guidance of the power tool.
Check the diamond wheel before using. Use only undam-
aged diamond wheels.
The mounted diamond wheel must be able to rotate freely.
Carry out a test run for at least 30 seconds with the new
diamond wheel. Use only true-running diamond wheels.
Before putting into operation, check the mains connection
and the mains plug for damage.
Hand/arm vibrations
The vibration emission level given in this information
sheet has been measured in accordance with a standard-
ised test given in EN 60745 and may be used to compare
one tool with another. It may be used for a preliminary
assessment of exposure.
The declared vibration emission level represents the
main applications of the tool. However if the tool is used
for different applications, with different accessories or
poorly maintained, the vibration emission may differ.
This may significantly increase the exposure level over
the total working period.
An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration
should also take into account the times when the tool is
switched off or when it is running but not actually doing
the job. This may significantly reduce the exposure level
over the total working period.
Identify additional safety measures to protect the opera-
tor from the effects of vibration such as: maintain the tool
and the accessories, keep the hands warm, organisation
of work patterns.
Operating instructions.
Before switching on, check the proper operation of the
wheel guard. Set the wheel guard to the completely open
position and then release it. The wheel guard must auto-
matically return to the completely closed position.
Use the construction cutter only with the cover sheet
mounted. (see page 4)
When working, pay attention that an operative vacuum
cleaner is connected. For optimal dust extraction, carry
out a separating cut in clockwise direction.
Press the locking button only when the motor is
stopped. (see page 4)
The self-start prevention lock prevents the power tool
from automatically restarting again, even after a brief
interruption of the power supply, e. g., from a pulled
mains plug. Switch the power tool off and then on again.
Repair and customer service.
When working metal under extreme operat-
ing conditions, it is possible for conductive
dust to settle in the interior of the power
tool. The total insulation of the power tool can be
impaired. Blow out the interior of the power tool via the
ventilation slots frequently with dry and oil-free com-
pressed air, and connect a residual current device (RCD)
on the line side.
If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged it must
be replaced by a specially prepared cord available
through the FEIN customer service centre.
If required, you can change the following parts yourself:
Application tools, Auxiliary handle.
