Users manual facial tanner 924/926
Please read these instructions carefully before assembling and using the sun lamp 924 /
926. Make sure you only use this appliance in accordance with the recommended treatment
times, tanning intervals, and tanning distance.
Power supply
This sun lamp should only be connected to a 230V 50Hz socket. Never place the sun lamp
in a bathroom, sauna, or any other damp room.
Protective goggles
Ultraviolet radiation is harmful to the eyes. A pair of protective goggles, which must be
worn with every use, has therefore been included with this sun lamp. Never use "regular"
sunglasses instead of the protective goggles. Even shutting the eyes provides inadequate
protection. A spare pair is also included.
Operation
Plug the mains lead into the socket and set the timer by turning the knob to the right to the
time you wish to use the facial tanner.
Timer
Using the timer will automatically switch on the facial and lamps will start burning. Turn the
knob to the right to the desired time (max. 30 min.). The timer will then shut off the lamp
after the time has elapsed. If you stop using the facial tanner before the time is up just let
the timer run until it ends. DONT TURN THE TIMER BACK SINCE THAT MAY DAMAGE THE
TIMER.
Maintenance, cleaning and technical information
First remove the plug from the socket! Wipe the outside of the sun lamp with a slightly
damp cloth. Do not use an abrasive cloth. Make sure that no water gets into the sun lamp.
The light tubes can be dusted with a dry cloth or a soft brush. The reflector plate should
only be dusted with a very soft brush (if necessary) from time to time. If components such
as the lamps or power cord (if damaged) need to be replaced the work should always be
carried out by a qualified electrician to avoid dangerous situations. The lamps have a very
long operating life of about 300 hours. This facial tanner has been built according to all
European safety standards, which allows it to carry the CE-mark. Insulation class II, UV A
radiation type 3, mains voltage 230 Volts, 50 Hz, power 75/95W resp.924/926.
General information about tanning
You can tan safely all year round underneath this sun lamp if you follow these guidelines
correctly. Our skin is tanned by invisible ultraviolet radiation from the sun. This radiation
darkens the pigment already present in our skin and stimulates the formation of more
pigment known as melanin. The production of new melanin cells and the darkening of these
make the skin stay tanned longer. There are a number of different types of ultraviolet
radiation. Ultraviolet A radiation (UVA), which colors the pigment cells brown, and
ultraviolet B radiation (UVB), which stimulates the production of melanin cells, but also
causes sunburn, are the most well-known types. Your sun lamp provides mostly UVA
radiation so that the danger of sunburn is precluded. How quickly and how deep you tan
depends on your skin type. The skin type also detain lines how long one can (safely) stay in
the sun. This is true for both the real sun as well as the sun lamp. In order to make the
best use of your sun lamp, first check your skin type using the following table. Further on in
these instructions, you will find the different skin types in the tables with the recommended
