leakage checks must be carried out with a soap solution, never with fire!
Do not smoke during the checks. In the event of a gas leak (be aware of the odor!)
Immediately close the gas bottle valve and remove the device from other sources
of heat and other sources of ignition.
Perform the check with a full gas bottle.
Turn the control knob to the OFF
position.
Make a soap solution from one
part of liquid soap and one part of
water.
Apply the soap solution to the
entire system, especially the
connections with a spray bottle,
brush or cloth.
Open the gas valve on the gas
bottle. If there is a leak, soap
bubbles will arise.
If there is a leak, close the gas valve on the gas bottle. Tighten the leaking part,
open the gas valve on the gas bottle and check again. If bubbles continue to
arise, contact your supplier.
Make sure there are no fire or sparks in the vicinity when you perform the leak
test and do not smoke!
If the gas hose shows signs of cracks, cracks or other damage
must be replaced by a new hose of the same length and equivalent quality.
Replace it at least every 3 years. Use spanner no. 17 for this; on the burner side
you need 2 open-ended spanners 17 there. Perform a gas leak check after
replacement.
The smell of gas
A smell has been added to gas to enable you to detect a gas leak. Gas is heavier
than air; so try to catch the smell just above the ground!
Take immediate action if you smell gas!
Immediately close the gas valve on the gas bottle.
Do not do anything that could lead to spark or fire to prevent ignition of the gas.
Do not switch electricity on or off, do not light a match, lighter, etc. and do not
use your phone.
Take everyone away from the gas source and give the gas plenty of time to blow
away. Stay away during that process! If you continue to smell gas or if you do
not trust the situation, then alert the fire department.
Have a gas leak repaired by qualified people!
