Move the On/Off-switch one position to the right (in FAN position) to switch on the
fan. The heater will give out unheated air and the bottom indicator light comes on.
Move the On/Off-switch one further position to the right (in HI position) to switch on
the heating. The heater will now give out hot air (300 Watt) and the upper indicator
light comes on.
By directing the air outlet grill somewhat upward or downwards, you can adjust the
airflow direction of the heater vertically.
When you want to switch the heater off, first turn the switch one position to the left
(to FAN) and allow the heater to cool for about five minutes. Then switch off the fan
by turning the switch completely to the left (to OFF). After switching off the heater,
always remove the plug from the socket.
Safety features
The heater is fitted with a safety tip switch which shuts it off if it is unexpectedly tipped
over. When you set the heater upright again, it will resume operation.
The overheating protection switches the heater off completely if it becomes too hot
inside. That can happen if the heater cannot give off its heat properly, or cannot draw in
enough cold air. This generally caused by (partially) covering the heater, obstructing the
air intake and/or outlet grills, installing too close to a wall etc. Because the protection is
burnt through by overheating, the heater cannot be reset. Only a full repair can restore
your heater after overheating. You should therefore always keep your heater clean,
make sure there is sufficient space around it and never cover it!
Cleaning and Maintenance
Keep the heater clean. Dust and dirt in the appliance are a common cause of overheat-
ing. So remove them regularly. Before cleaning or maintenance, switch the heater off,
remove the plug from the socket and allow the heater to cool.
Wipe the outside of the heater regularly with a dry or well-wrung out damp cloth. Do
not use hard soaps, sprays, cleaners or abrasives, waxes, polishes or chemical solu-
tions!
Using a vacuum cleaner, carefully remove dust and dirt from the grills and ensure
that the air intake and outlet openings are clean. Be careful not to touch or damage
any internal parts during cleaning.
The heater contains no other parts which need maintenance.
At the end of the season, put away the cleaned heater, if possible in the original
packaging. Place it upright in a cool drug dust-free place.
When the heater is eventually worn out (or is damaged beyond repair) do not dis-
pose of it in the household waste. Take it to your local authority's collection point for
electrical appliances, where they will make sure that any materials which can be re-
used are handled appropriately.
