Intended use
The JAKE BLACK bicycle carrier is equipped with a back-
up alarm system. The back-up alarm system shows the
distance of obstacles behind the vehicle by means of
acoustic signals. It merely serves as an additional aid
when driving backward or manoeuvring the vehicle. The
system cannot replace the driver's diligence. Check the
area behind your vehicle and use a positioning guide. EAL
GmbH is not liable for accidents, damage to the vehicle, or
for other damage.

Mount receiver for back-up alarm
system
Plug the receiver of the back-up alarm system into the
cigar lighter (12 V) of your vehicle.
Once the LED lights up, the receiver is operational.

due to non-functioning back-up alarm system.
Driving without a functioning back-up alarm
system can lead to accidents.
• Before every trip, check that the back-up
alarm system is functioning correctly.
•Check the connection between plug and
connector on the bicycle carrier.
•If necessary, plug the receiver in again until
it clicks into place.
• If necessary, replace a defective receiver.
Operation
If reverse gear of the vehicle is engaged with the mounted
and connected JAKE BLACK bicycle carrier and an
operational receiver, you will hear a short beep.
The system is now activated.
Detecting the distance to obstacles
Differently rapid tone sequences indicate the distance to
obstacles behind the vehicle. The faster the tone
sequence, the closer the object.
2,0 m - 1,5 m.....................................slow tone sequence
1,4 m - 1,0 m............................................
0,9 m - 0,5 m............................................
0,4 m - 0 m............................... very rapid tone sequence
Adjusting the volume
Quieter: Rotate the adjusting wheel downward
Louder: Rotate the adjusting wheel upward
Cleaning
Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning the back-up alarm
system. Do not use cleaning agents or other chemicals for
cleaning.

systems, be subject to faults/disturbances.
Disturbances may be caused by mobile
phones, bluetooth, headsets, navigation

surrounding area.
