3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read and understand owner’s manual before use.
2. The plug of the lathe should be connected to a proper grounding type
receptacle.
3. Keep all guards in place during operation.
4. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches before turning on the lathe.
5. Keep work area clean; floor must not be slippery due to wax or sawdust.
6. Do not use power tools in damp or wet locations or expose them to rain. Keep
work area well lighted and provide adequate surrounding work space.
7. Keep children away from the work area.
8. Make workshop kid-proof with padlocks or removing starter keys.
9. The lathe will do the job better and safer when operated at the proper speed.
10. Do not force tool or attachment to do a job for which it was not designed.
11. Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, neckties or jewelry (rings, wristwatches)
that can get caught in moving parts. Nonslip footwear is recommended. Wear
protective hair covering to contain long hair. Roll long sleeves above the
elbow.
12. Wear safety goggles at all times. Also use face or dust mask if cutting
operation is dusty and ear protectors during extended periods of operation.
13. Mount workpiece securely between centers.
14. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
15. Keep tools sharp and clean for best and safest performance. Follow
instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
16. Before servicing, changing accessories or attachments make sure that the
switch is in “OFF” position and that the plug is removed from the power
source.
17. Use only recommended accessories to prevent accidents.
18. Never stand on the lathe.
19. Apply cutting tool to the workpiece against the direction of the spindle rotation.
Use lowest speed when starting new workpiece.
20. Never leave the lathe running unattended; turn the power “OFF” and do not
leave the lathe until it comes to a complete stop.
