With recordings at a rate of 25 IPS, actions such as theft are clearly visible. At a rate
of 12 IPS it will be less clear what exactly happens but there will still be more than
enough details. A 6 or 3 IPS recording does not contain enough images to clearly see
what is happening. Persons will be recognizable if they stand still long enough, but
actions can not be monitored.
The EM6010 is equipped with an advanced image processor and can automatically
switch between images per second during recording. This allows you to constantly
record at 3 IPS and switch to 25 IPS during interesting moments. This method of
recording is recommended if you wish to constantly record for as long as possible with
as less disk usage as possible.
Apart from the choice you have to make concerning IPS, you can also choose
between manual recording, time based recording and motion detection. All three
possibilities will be explained in the following chapters.
6.3 Manual recording
This option allows you to start recording the camera images at any given time. This
method uses small amounts of disk space, but only when it’s manually enabled and
disabled. This can be too exhaustive in a number of situations.
1. Press the red ‘Menu’ button on the remote control to open the menu of the
EM6010.
2. Press the ‘Enter’ button to open the ‘Record’ menu.
3. Choose the option ‘Record IMG Size’, and set it to ‘Frame’ using the ‘Enter’
button.
4. Choose the option ‘Record Quality’, and set it to ‘Best’ using the ‘Enter’ button.
5. Choose the option ‘Manual Record IPS’ and set it to (for instance) ’25 IPS’ using
the ‘Enter’ button. (Consult the table in chapter 6.2 to estimate the disk usage.)
6. Press the red ‘Menu’ button twice to leave the menu.
