Taking a blood pressure reading
a. Choose the cu that best suits your arm size.
Apply the cu and sit or lie comfortably.
b. Press the
ON/OFF button, Fig. 4.
A beep is heard and all display characters
are shown. Fig. 5.
c. The LCD goes directly to ”
0” and the arrow up
ashes. Fig 6
d. Press the
START button, Fig. 7, and the
measurement will start.

e. The cu inates until sucient pressure has
built up for a measurement. The LCD displays
numbers changing and the heart symbol
ashing. Fig. 8.
The unit slowly releases air from the cu and
makes the measurement and the blood
pressure and pulse rate is displayed in the

f. After measurement, the monitor will turn o automatically after 3 minute of no operation.
g. You can turn o the monitor at any time by pressing the
START button.
Assessing high blood pressure for adults
The following guidelines for assessing high blood pressure (without regard to age or gender) have been
established by the World Health Organization (WHO). Please note that other factors (e.g. diabetes, obesity,
smoking, etc.) need to be taken into consideration. Consult with your physician for accurate assessment and
never change your treatment by yourself.
Optimal less than 120 and less than 80
Normal 120-129 or 80-84
High-Normal 130-139or or 85-89
Grade 1 hypertension 140-159 or 90-99
Grade 2 hypertension 160-179 or 100-109
Grade 3 hypertension 180 or 110
