20) When working on a slope us the mower
transversally rather than up and down and take
great care when turning.
21) Never us the mower on more than a 15%
gradient
22) Before lifting the mower, switch off the motor,
remove the safety key and wait for the blades to
come to a standstill.
23) Never allow children, other persons or animals
near to where you are working. Always keep
them at least 10 metres from the work area.
24) Before returning the mower to a dry storage, out
of the reach of children, always remove the
safety key.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY RULES
1) The supply voltage for the battery charger must
correspond to the voltage stated on the technical
data plate (230V~50Hz). Do not use other
sources of power.
2) Avoid damaging or treading on the battery
charger cable when this is operating.
3) Do not use the battery charger in damp
environments or on wet surfaces.
4) Do not short-circuit the battery as it may explode.
5) If the battery breaks and you come into contact
with the acid, rinse the affected parts with plenty
of water.
The battery charger has been built with dual
insulation in compliance with EEC 20 regulations.
Dual insulation is electrically safer and therefore the
battery charger does not need earthing.
ASSEMBLY OF COMPONENTS
When the lawnmower is supplied, some parts are
provided loose and require assembly. Assembly is
quite simple if the following recommendations are
respected.
During assembly of the components, the motor
should be off and the safety key removed from the
switch.
1. THE HANDLE
Take the lawnmover out of its box which also
contains the three parts of the handle. Insert the two
curved handles into position and make sure that the
holes for the screws are facing outwards. Take two
screws from the bag to fasten the handles to the
casing (fig. D). Insert the two caps in the top ends of
the handles (fig. D).
Attach the upper handle by fastening it with the two
M8x45 screws and the handwheels provided (fig. F).
2. THE GRASSBOX
Fit the upper grassbox to the lower grassbox,
pressing the clips together (fig. C).
Before mounting the grassbox onto the mower make
sure that the motor is switched off and the blade is
still. Lift the guard flap and hook the grassbox onto
the clips on the casing.
CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
Turn off the motor and remove the safety key before
adjusting the cutting height.
Adjustment is carried out on the wheels (fig. E). The
mower has three cutting heights: 30, 45 and 60 mm.
The wheels should be positioned so that the mower
is on a level.
BATTERY CHARGING
The battery has been charged before delivery in
order to achieve total cutting power and it should be
recharged before operation. Only the battery
charger supplied with the mower should be used.
Further charging is necessary:
a) After each cutting operation (even if some
charge remains)
b) Before storing the battery away for the winter
c) When the battery has not been used for a long
time (over 6 months)
Battery recharging
a) Remove the handwheel (fig. A pos. 9) and the
cover
b) Disconnect the battery of the mower and place
it in a dry place out of reach of children (fig. E).
c) Connect the battery socket to the plug of the
battery charger, making sure that this is fitted
properly.
d) Then connect the battery charger to the
electricity mains supply.
To avoid damaging the battery, do not charge it for
more than 48 hours.
STARTING THE LAWN MOWER
To avoid accidental starting of the lawn mover, the
switch unit has been a safety button (fig. H pos 1)
that must be pressed before pulling the starting lever
(fig. H pos. 2). When this operation is carried out, a
“click” of the switch can be heard.
Insert the safety key in the switch unit (fig. F pos. 1).
Press the safety button and pull the lever, the motor
will start. When the lever is released, the button will
return to its initial position and the motor will stop.
This operation should be repeated a few times
before starting to cut the grass to make sure
everything is running correctly.
