- Be extremely careful when working on
slopes or uneven surfaces.
- Stop the motor before setting the chain saw
down.
- Do not lean forward and do not cut above
shoulder height; gripping the saw at the top
of the handle makes it difficult to control and
counteract kickback (Fig. 20).
- Do not use in trees or on steps, this is
extremely dangerous (Fig. 20).
- Ensure that the cable does not snag on
parts of the tree when the machine is in
operation.
- Stop the saw if the chain strikes a foreign
object. Inspect the saw and repair or replace
parts as necessary.
- Keep the chain out of dirt and sand. Even a
small amount of dirt will quickly dull a chain
and increase the possibility of kickback.
- Always keep the handles dry and clean.
- When cutting a limb that is under tension, be
alert for springback so you will not be struck
when the tension in the wood fibre is
released.
- Take great care when cutting small branches
or shrubs which can block the chain, be
thrown back towards you or cause you to
lose your balance.
8. MAINTENANCE
WARNING - The motor is designed so
as not to become overheated during
normal use. A possible overheating can
be caused by worn or badly sharpened
chain, inadequate chain lubrication,
excessive pressure on the electric saw while
cutting, obstruction of the motor sir slits
or an inappropriate extension cord. During
maintenance operations, always wear
protective gloves and make sure that the
plug for mains connection is disconnected.
Inspect the tool before each use to check for
worn or damaged components. Do not use
the chain saw if you notice any broken or
excessively worn parts.
General cleaning
Keep the tool clean. Remove all woodchips
after each use and before stowing the tool
away.
Regular and correct cleaning will help to
keep the tool in safe working order and
extend its working life.
Clean the tool with a dry cloth. Use a brush
to clean hard-to-reach areas of the tool.
Take special care in cleaning the air intakes
with a brush after each use of the tool. Clear
away any hard to remove debris using
compressed air (max. 3 bar) (Fig.27).
CAUTION - Do not use aggressive or
alkaline chemicals, abrasives or other
detergents or disinfectants to clean the tool;
such products may damage the outer of the
tool.
CHECK/REPLACEMENT OF THE BRUSHES
Every 100 work hours the brushes should be
checked by your authorized servicing dealer.
Replacement is recommended aner 200
work hours. For check of brushes, please call
authorized dealers or workshops.
WARNING - Require the assembly of
original brushes. The brushes must be
replaced in pairs.
EXTRA MAINTANANCE ADVISABLE
It is advisable to inspect the machine by a
specialized technician at an authorized service
network at the end of season, if used
intensively, and every two years if with normal
use.
WARNING: All maintenance operations
not reported in this manual must be
carried out by an authorized Service Center.
To ensure steady and regular electric saw
operation, remember that parts must only be
replaced with ORIGINAL SPARES.
Any unauthorized changes and/or
use of non-original replacement parts
