BEFORE THE FIRST OPERATION
For the perfect taste, operate the jug kettle with fresh water in order to clean any residue left
from the manufacturing process. When the appliance has cooled down, repeat the process 3
times with fresh water, before rinsing.
OPERATION
•
Always remove the jug from the power base before filling it or before any operation.
•
Open the lid by pressing its release button and fill the tank with fresh water, paying
attention not to fill under the minimum mark or above the maximum mark on the water
level indicator.
•
Close the lid by pressing it down until you hear a click. Make sure it closes correctly.
•
Put the jug onto the power base, plug into the wall socket and switch on by pressing the
switch on the handle upwards (position „I“).
•
The jug kettle will switch off automatically when the water is boiling. However, you can stop
the jug kettle anytime by pressing down its switch or by taking it from the base.
•
For instant reboiling, wait until the water has cooled down and switch on the appliance
again.
SAFETY CUT-OUT
•
This jug kettle is protected with an automatic safety device which switches off the
appliance if it is accidentally switched on without water.
•
In this case, switch off the appliance and wait about 10 minutes for the element to cool.
Then fill the jug kettle with cold water. This will reset the safety device.
•
The kettle may then be used as normal.
•
Should the problem persist, contact the nearest customer service.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Before attempting any cleaning operation, make sure the appliance is unplugged from
the supply socket and fully cooled down.
•
To clean the exterior surfaces, simply wipe over with a soft damp cloth. You can use a soft
brush to remove lime scale on the interior surfaces.
•
Never use abrasive products.
•
On no account must the jug kettle or its power base be immersed in water.
•
When the lid is open, you can remove the particle filter by pulling at it and clean it under
running water.
DESCALING
When scale becomes visible in the jug, you have to descale it. To remove scale from the jug
kettle, use products made especially available for this purpose, liquid descaling products or for
the sake of environmental protection you can use vinegar.
When descaling, please pay attention to the following points:
• First pour some water in the appliance, and add the descaling product afterwards.
• Make sure to dilute the product sufficiently. Please follow the instruction manual of the
descaling product.
• When using vinegar, do not use more than 2-3 ml.
• Caution, the mixture might froth during heating.
