14. MFP Server Installation in MAC OS
LPR Printing (Line Printer Remote technology) allows Macintosh
computers to connect to MFPs or printers via TCP/IP. LPR Printing
can be set up on any Macintosh with version 9.x above.
14.1 MAC 10.4.x
To enable LPR Printing in Macintosh 10.4.x, please follow the
procedures below.
1. Open Print and Fax from the System Preferences.
2. With the Printing tab selected, click the “Add” button.
3. When the Printer Browser opens, select “IP Printer”.
4. In the “IP Printer” screen, please configure as below.
Protocol: Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD as the Protocol.
IP Address: Set the address to the MFP Server’s IP Address, for
example: 192.168.2.3.
Queue: Set the queue name to lpt1.
Name: You can designate a name for the MFP or printer.
Location: You can enter the location of the MFP or printer.
Printer: Select the MFP or printer model that is attached to the
MFP Server.
5. Click “Add” to complete the MFP or printer installation.
