NO HOT WATER FOR MAKING TEA OR AMERICANOS
••
Check that there is water in the reservoir (11) and that
the steam/water selector (13) is set to water.
••
Air may have entered the circuit and unprimed the
pump. If you have checked the reservoir and the
steam/water selector and there is still no water coming
out, descale then call the helpline on 01293 652 500.
COFFEE LEAKS FROM THE RIM OF THE FILTER
HOLDER
••
There may be too much ground coffee in the filter
(18) or (19), preventing it from sealing properly within
the brewhead (6). Empty the filter and refill it, making
sure you use a measuring spoon (20) of ground coffee.
••
If you are using a pod, the filter paper may not be
tucked inside the filter, this could be preventing it from
sealing properly within the brewhead (6).
••
There may be stray grounds of coffee on the rim of the
filter. Clean the rim and try again.
••
Gasket (6) may be dislodged, see page 26.
••
Try backing off the handle a couple of degrees, this
can re-align the filter holder (7) with the gasket.
NO STEAM
••
Check that there is water in the reservoir and that the
Steam/Water selector (13) is set to steam.
••
Using a pin, remove any obstruction which may have
formed in the hole of the steam wand (14).
••
Descale the machine.
COFFEE IS WATERY AND COLD
••
The ground coffee is too coarse. To create a stronger,
hotter coffee, use a finer grind and a lighter tamp.
COFFEE IS NOT DELIVERED OR FLOWS VERY SLOWLY
••
Check your tamp. If it is tamped too hard, this may
obstruct the flow through the filter.
••
Check the filter containing the ground coffee. If the
perforations are obstructed, clean with a brush. If
this doesn't solve the problem, soak the filter in
washing up solution, leave for an hour and scrub with
a brush. This should clear the filter perforations.
••
Operate the machine without the filter holder to see if
it is the problem.
