8.3.1 Installing the wood set
The wood set consists of a number of logs (see fig. 8-9), vermiculite (see fig. 8-10), chips (see fig. 8-11), glow material (see
fig. 8-12) and ash (see fig. 8-13).
2For Eco Glow appliances, an extra set of Glowing Embers is supplied (see fig. 8-15).
3It is not possible to completely cover the Eco Glow openings in the plate around the burner, which means there is a risk
of scattered light. This can be prevented as much as possible by the correct placement of Glowing Embers, coals and
chips. Scattered light can also originate under, above and next to the appliance. Take this into account when designing
the chimney breast.
1Fill the lying burner with vermiculite; evenly spread the vermiculite (see fig. 8-19).
2You can influence the flame picture by moving the vermiculite.
3- The vermiculite should not get higher than the edge of the burner.
- The burner deck has to remain covered with vermiculite in order to prevent reduction of the burner's life span.
1For appliances without Eco Glow, use all chips in the wood set.
1Fill the vermiculite plates with chips, spread the chips evenly, keep the sections marked in red free of chips (see fig. 8-19).
1 For appliances with Eco Glow, use the Glowing embers, coals, 400ml of the supplied grey chips and 600ml of the black
chips. This is less than the total ammount supplied with the appliance.
2First place the Glowing embers and then the coals. Switch on the glow lighting while placing, so that the stray light can
be seen directly and covered with the rocks and coals.
1Spread the Glowing embers over the square holes in the vermiculite plate, keep the sections marked in red free (see fig.
8-20).
2Place chips on the edge of the pane frame. Prevent chips from getting under the pane frame (see fig. 8-17 and 8-18).
1If necessary, distribute the ash over the chips, make sure it does not end up on the burners.
3The vermiculite plates are provided wit square holes, these holes supply air. Do not place more than one layer of chips
over these holes.
1Identify logs A to K (see fig. 8-9).
2Use the burn stains on the logs for identification.
1Place log A over the lying burner and on the position cams (see fig. 8-19/8-20 and 8-21, A).
1Place log B in the position cam and on log A. Make sure that log B has 1cm play with the underside of the right standing
burner and 2cm with the front of log A (See fig. 8-19/8-20 and 8-21, B).
1Place log C on the position cam to the left and on log A to the right (see fig. 8-19/8-20 and 8-21, C).
1Place log D parallel to the lying burner and over the ignition electrodes (see fig. 8-19/8-20 and 8-21, D).
1Place log E against the tube of the standing burner to the right and on the position cam (see fig. 8-19/8-20 and 8-21, E).
1Place log F over and against the position cams (see fig. 8-19/8-20 and 8-21, F).
1Place log G over the standing burner to the left (see fig. 8-22/8-23 and 8-24, G). Make sure that the log is placed on the
burner correctly (see fig. 8-16).
1Place log H on the position cam and on log G (see fig. 8-22/8-23 and 8-24, H).
1Place log I against the position cam (see fig. 8-22/8-23 and 8-24, I).
1Place log J over the standing burner to the right (see fig. 8-22/8-23 and 8-24, J). Make sure that the log is placed on the
burner correctly (see fig. 8-16).
1Place log K against the position cam and on log J (see fig. 8-22/8-23 and 8-24, K).
1If necessary, spread the glow material over the lying burners. Spread out the glow material in separate small tufts and
place the glow material on the sections of the lying burners that are marked green (see fig 8-15).
3- The areas around the ionization and ignition should remain free from glow material.
- The glow material may affect the colour of the flame picture.
