Operating and braking
without an attendant:
The person sitting in the
wheelchair can operate
the wheelchair himself/
herself with the hand rim.
He or she can also stop
the wheelchair using the
hand rim.
Anti-tipping wheels
The anti-tipping wheels pre-
vent the wheelchair from
tipping over backwards.
They also serve to facili-
tate tilting by an atte dant.
The height of the wheels
can be adjusted.
Pull the silver-colored disc
towards yourself and slide
the tubing along the brack-
et up or down.
Tilt aid
The tilt aids help the atten-
dant to tilt the wheelchair
more easily and thus move
over obstacles more easily.
First push the anti-tipping
wheels into the highest po-
sition.
Step on the lever with your
foot and balance with the
push handle.
Parking brake
The parking brake enables the user to securely park the
wheelchair. Once the wheelchair is stationary, activate
the parking brake (tire brake) (pic. 31). Press the lever for-
ward until it locks in place by itself.
Now the wheelchair is stable and you can turn or simply
just park. You release the parking brake by pulling the
lever back (pic. 32).
Lowering the leg supports:
To lower the leg supports
again, loosen the star screw
and swing the leg supports
down.
Tighten the star screw back
in the desired position
(pic.
24).
Taking o the leg supports:
To take the leg supports
o , fi rst raise the foot plates.
(pic. 25)
. Pull the locking le-
ver upwards and swing the
leg supports to the side.
Pull the leg supports up and
out.
When mounting them, per-
form the operation in the re-
verse order. Ensure that the
leg supports are correctly
locked
(pic. 26)
.
Removing the side parts
The side part can be re-
moved so that it is easier
to get in and out. Press the
locking knob and pull the
armrest upwards out of its
bracket. To insert the arm
rests, push them into the
bracket until they snap into
place.
Pushing and braking
Pushing and braking by an attendant:
If the wheelchair is steered by the attendant, the atten-
dant can use the available drum brake as a driving and
parking brake. This is especially an advantage for navi-
gating slopes. The attendant operates the wheelchair by
pushing on the provided push handles. The brakes can
be operated a little at a time during operation by pulling
on the brake lever more or less depending on the need.
To park, the brakes are locked on both sides by pushing
the brake lever. Then push the locking lever on the brake
down so that it locks the brake lever. The brake lever can
now be released, and it remains in its position. To release
the parking brake, press the brake lever once.
