1. From the Home screen, tap Set A general option
Advanced settings Battery Battery saver.
2. Switch to enable. When you flip the switch you'll see that the
colour of the switch changes and your status bar at the top of the
screen turns orange. This lets you instantly know that the mode is en-
abled (but not necessarily engaged).
3. To automatically activate power saving mode when the remaining bat-
tery power reaches the preset level, tap Turn on automatically and
select an option.
Note! You will be prompted to enable the battery saver feature when the
battery level reaches 20%. The battery saver feature will turn off
automatically when you charge your device.
Reduce battery consumption
Here are some tips on how you may extend the phone’s battery power by
reducing battery consumption.
Charge your phone often, preferably every day. Charging does not af-
fect the lifetime of the battery.
When not downloading data from the Internet, which is power con-
suming, disable data connections over mobile networks. Data is still
transmitted over Wi-Fi.
Turn off Wi-Fi when not in use. Use the notification panel to disable
the features.
Turn off Bluetooth when not in use. Use the notification panel to dis-
able the features.
Deactivate auto-syncing of apps and synchronise your applications
manually, like your email, calendar and contacts.
Use the Battery status menu in your device to see which applications
use the most power.
Decrease the screen brightness, see The screen brightness, p.31.
When in areas with no network coverage, turn off your device or acti-
vate the Aeroplane mode. The device repeatedly scans for available
networks which consumes power. See Aeroplane mode, p.36.
The GPS is also quite battery consuming. If you want to stop apps re-
porting on your location automatically, make sure that Location re-
porting is off, see How to turn off GPS location services, p.68.
