Also the oor nozzle has two different settings:
1. For hard oors like tiles and wood, extend the brush bar by pressing the button
into setting 1.
2. For carpets, retract the brush bar by pressing the button into setting 2.
Shutting down
Switch off the vacuum cleaner by pressing the on/off button. Pull the
plug out of the socket. To rewind the cord, press the rewinding button
(B) with one hand while you guide the cord with your other hand
to ensure that the plug does not whip causing damage. To store the
vacuum cleaner you can slide the oor nozzle with the tube and hose
into the special slot at the back of the appliance.
MAINTENANCE
The instructions in this manual serve as a guideline for routine maintenance. Check
the hose, dust bag and lter often. Clear a clogged hose, replace the dust bag when it
is full and clean the motor lter when dirty.
Disposable dust bags and lters
The dust bag and the motor lter play a very important roll in the efciency of the
vacuum cleaner. The purpose of the dust bag is to trap dirt, but at the same time the
lter needs to be porous enough to allow air to pass through. If the bag or motor
lter get clogged, no air can pass through the cleaner and no cleaning can take place
regardless of how powerful the unit is.
To keep the cleaner operating at maximum efciency, change the dust bag
frequently and clean the lter when needed. Some ne particles can restrict the
air ow very quickly and will decrease the performance even before the bag appears
to be full. For that reason, the bag and lter may need to be changed more often
when vacuuming carpet fresheners or cleaners, powder, plaster dust or similar ne
substances.
Replacing the dust bag
Remember: switch off and unplug the vacuum cleaner before you replace the dust bag
or clean the motor lter. Never vacuum without the dust bag or lter.
