Refrigerator operation
4.14 Troubleshooting
Before notifying the authorised Service Center,
please check whether:
n the instructions in section "Operating the
refrigerator" have been observed.
n the refrigerator stands level.
n it is possible to operate the refrigerator with
any available power source.
Possible cause Action you can take
Failure: The refrigerator does not cool sufficiently.
n Inadequate ventilation to the unit.
n Thermostat setting is too low.
n The condenser is heavily frosted.
n Too much warm food has been stored inside within
short period of time.
n The appliance has been running for only a short period
of time.
n Ambient temperatures too high.
n Check that the ventilation grilles are not covered.
n Set thermostat to a higher level.
n Check that the refrigerator door closes properly.
n Allow warm food to cool down before storage.
n Check whether the cooling compartment works after
approx. 4 - 5 hours.
n Regularly remove ventilation grilles.
Possible cause Action you can take
Failure: The refrigerator does not cool in gas operation mode.
n Gas cylinder empty.
n Is the upstream shut-off device open ?
n Air in the gas pipe ?
n Change gas cylinder.
n Open shut-off device.
n Switch off the appliance and start again. Repeat this
procedure 3 - 4 times, if necessary.
Possible cause Action you can take
Failure: The refrigerator does not cool in 12V operation.
n On-board fuse defective.
n On-board battery discharged.
n Engine not running.
n Heating element defective (please also refer to failure
indication).
n Fit new fuse.
n Check battery, charge it.
n Start engine.
n Please inform the Dometic Customer Services.
Possible cause Action you can take
Failure: The refrigerator does not cool in 230V operation.
n On-board fuse defective.
n Vehicle not connected to mains supply voltage.
n AES: Gas operation despite connection to the mains
supply voltage?
n Heating element defective (please also refer to failure
indication).
n Fit new fuse.
n Make a connection to a mains power supply.
n Appliance switches to gas operation due to insufficient
mains supply voltage (automatically switches back to
230V operation).
n Please inform the Dometic Customer Services.
