5 Troubleshooting and technical details
5 Troubleshooting and technical details
5.1 Before you send in the appliance
Before contacting us or even sending the appliance to us, use the table to
check whether you can correct the problem yourself.
5.2 Warranty
The statutory warranty regulations in accordance with the EU Directive
1999/44/EC apply.
In non-EU countries the minimum requirements of the warranty in the re-
spective country apply.
5.3 Disposal
Dispose of the appliance in compliance with the environmental
protection laws of your country. Electrical waste may not be dis-
posed of together with domestic waste. Use local old-appliance
collection points instead.
The water filter cartridge is made from environmentally compatible material
and can be disposed of with domestic waste.
5.4 Technical data
Technical and design specifications may be changed in the course of continuous

5.5 Symbols on the appliance
WARNING:
Danger of injury! Never use a defective appliance! Always switch off the
appliance and disconnect it from the mains before starting troubleshoot-
ing.
Problem Possible cause / solution
Appliance will not
go into operation-
al readiness
mode or suddenly
stops producing
steam.
Water tank has not be mounted correctly.
Mount the water tank again, ZChapter 2.3, ‘Filling
the water tank’.
Water tank is empty and/or the overeating protec-
tion system has tripped due to an empty water
tank.
1. Switch off the device, put it into the neutral po-
sition, and pull the plug from the socket.
2. Fill the water tank, ZChapter 2.3, ‘Filling the
water tank’.
3. If the overheating protection has tripped, wait
about 45 minutes before connecting the appli-
ance again.
Brush roller does
not rotate
Brush roller is not on.
Switch on the brush roller, ZChapter 3.1, ‘Sweep-
ing’.
Brush roller is blocked.
Clean the brush roller, ZChapter 4.2, ‘Checking/
cleaning the brush roller’.

Cleaning perfor-
mance is not sat-

Stains are stubborn.
Repeat the cleaning process several times.
If that is not enough, remove the stain before
steam cleaning.
Filter cartridge is worn out.
Replace the filter cartridge, ZChapter 4.1, ‘Check-
ing/replacing filter cartridges’.
Micro-fibre cloth has been attached the wrong way
around.
1. Switch off the device, put it into the neutral po-
sition, and pull the plug from the socket and
wait about 5 minutes.
2. You can now take off the cool micro-fibre cloth
and attach it the right way around, ZChapter
2.2, ‘Attaching the cloth and pad’.
Micro-fibre cloth is dirty.
