User introduction
Thank you for choosing the Dimplex LST heater. We manufacture the highest quality heating
products for use in a wide variety of environments. This product has been designed to incorporate
the latest, most advanced technologies to give you maximum control over your heating.
The system allows for the simple setting of required time and temperature, and includes many
energy-saving features which work automatically to help keep you warm for less.
Please read the instructions closely before first using the product, there is also quick-start
guide on the next page if you need a reminder of how to use the basic functions in the future.
Energy saving features
The Dimplex LST heater has many features which are designed to save you money. It has a self-
learning capability which learns the thermal characteristics of a room and determines how long
the appliance needs to be on in order to reach target temperature based on factors such as room
size, heat loss and prevailing weather. This minimises wasted energy whilst maximising comfort,
keeping you warm for the lowest possible cost.
Fan assisted flow
The Dimplex LST heater has a convection element which automatically adjust its power output. It
has a quiet fan to rapidly circulate heat around the room while ensuring the body of the product
remains cool to the touch. This allows the product to heat the room more efficiently than a
conventional convector maintaining an incredibly accurate room temperature. The product will
reduce its output as the room gets close to the target temperature, to avoid overshooting the
target temperature and stopping the room from overheating, thus saving you energy.
Open window technology
Should a window or door be accidentally left open, your heater will detect the sudden change in
temperature and go into standby mode, returning to normal operation when the window or door
has been closed. This ensures output of the heater is reduced while heat is escaping from the
room, saving you money.
EcoStart (Anticipatory Control)
Measuring the heat-up and cool-down times of the room and how they vary with external
temperatures, the heater will calculate what time it needs to start heating in order to reach the
user defined target termperature at a specified time. For example, if you get up at 7am, you
would normally have to guess when to turn the heating on in order for it to pre-heat the room in
time. Depending on how cold it is outside, this could mean the room is still cold when you have
to get out of bed, or mean that its been warm for half an hour before it needed to be. This clever
feature means that if you select 21 degrees celsius at 7am, the heater will turn on exactly when
it needs to to meet this target, running for shorter periods of time when the weather is mild, and
ensuring the room is nice and warm in the winter.
These functions are explained in more detail later, and can be disabled if the environment
where the heater is installed means that they are not needed.
