USER MANUAL
!Tip
Carefully pace the wood blocks in the fire in order to prevent the inner lining from getting damaged.
Be particularly cautious in case of wood stems with side branches;
Place the wood blocks loosely on top of each other and make sure they can be reached by sufficient air;
If the fire is not burning properly, you can temporarily open the air supply slide further;
With the air slide in it's most right position a second air flow is activated. This mode is meant to aid the fire
when lighting and reloading the fire. When the fire is established the slide should be placed back into the
middle position.
Do not only use soft wood, but mix it with hard wood in particular.
A steadily burning fire stimulates combustion.
!CAUTION
Operation with the air control or appliance dampers open can cause excess smoke. The appliance must not be
operated with air controls, appliance dampers or door left open axcept as directed in the instructions.
Operation with the door left open can cause excess smoke. The appliance must not be operated with the
appliance door left open except as directed in the instructions.
Ø
Refill the fire before the flames have gone out of the fire. This will be approximately every 30 to 45 minutes.
Ø
Close the door and open the air supply slide all the way until the new wood blocks are burning well. See Table 2 for
the recommended quantities of wood.
Ø
Using the air supply slide, adjust the draught until a steady flame pattern is achieved.
Ø
Always allow the fire to burn empty when you stop burning.
!CAUTION
If there is insufficient burning material in the firebed to light a new fuel charge, excessive smoke emission can
occur. Refuelling must be carried out onto a sufficient quantity of glowing embers and ash that the new fuel
charge will ignite in a reasonable period. If there are too few embers in the fire bed add suitable kindling to
prevent excess smoke.
Smoke
Light coloured (white or colourless) smoke indicates that suitable wood is used and that there is a good
combustion. Grey, blue or even black smoke is created in case of incomplete combustion, e.g. as a result of moist or
excess wood.
!CAUTION
When an insufficient amount of glowing embers is present in the fire reloading can cause an excess of smoke. In
this case reloading with big woorden blocks shall be done after burning small wood blocks to reestablish a glowing
bed of embers in the fire. Reloading without a sufficient amount of heat causes excessive smoke and emission.
4.4 Fire with oven (if applicable)
If your fire is provided with an oven, you can use it to heat or cook dishes.
You can close the oven, using the valve (see Appendix 2, Fig. 6 (K)). Use the oven glove for this. When used, you
must always place aluminium foil in the oven in order to avoid fat from getting on the oven surface and burning
into it. Only use the oven after the fire's paint has hardened (see section 4.1).
4.5 Fire with fan(s)
Appliances that are made with fans will heat a room more quickly and increase comfort. As soon as the fan is
switched on you will be able to feel a pleasant warm air flow.
The fans in the appliance switch on and off automatically when heat is detected. Depending on the installation and
heating behaviour, this can take up to an hour in some cases. As soon as the appliance has cooled down, the fans
will switch off automatically.
With the use of the slider on the adapter it is possible to regulate the speed of the fans; position 1 is the minimum
position, position 4 is the maximum position.
!Caution
The device must be connected to the mains at all times to prevent damage to the components due to overheating.
If a power failure occurs during the firing, it is recommended to light the appliance quietly to prevent damage to
the components.
