Setting the bass enhancer
Use this procedure to set the dynamic range of the output signals
when playing DVDs recorded in Dolby Digital.
Dynamic range:
This is the ratio between the softest sound that can be played
without being drowned out by the noise generated by the
equipment and the loudest sound that can be produced without
the sound breaking up.
Setting the dynamic range compression
This setting is only effective for analog outputs.
This setting is ineffective when “SOURCE DIRECT” is set to
“50kHz” or “100kHz”.
When set to “50kHz” or “100kHz”, you can enjoy the DTS
recommended full range all-channel sound. (Note however that the
subwoofer volume increases by 5 dB, or by 15 dB for Super Audio
CDs.) In addition, the 6-channel sources of DVD-Audio discs
recorded in the all-channel full range frequency model can also be
played. In this case, make analog connections as described in the
disc’s instructions.
When setting “50kHz” or “100kHz”, set all the speaker sizes to
“LARGE” and the subwoofer to “YES”.
The “CHANNEL LEVEL” and “DELAY TIME” settings remain in
effect even when “50kHz” or “100kHz” is set.
