“Safe transport”: certain models are
tted with a locking system which locks
the iron in position during transport.
When the iron is locked in position, it must not be
used as a carrying handle to transport the applian-
ce!To position the iron correctly, insert the tip of the plate
into the housing B, rest the iron in position and move the
lock J to the locking position.
To release the iron, move the lock J into the release posi-
tion and remove the iron from its housing. While ironing,
if the iron rest has not been removed from the appliance,
you can rest the tip of the iron on the heat resistant base C
above the housing B.
t The appliance must be used and rested on a stable heat
resistant surface.

pliance is resting on a stable surface. NEVER store the
iron in a vertical position!

is dropped causing visible damage to the appliance (ste-
am generator or iron), do not use. Take to Customer Servi-

What water to use
The appliance works with normal tap water.
Important!
In case of very hard water (hardness above 27°F) we suggest
using demineralised water diluted with 50% tap water. Never
use demineralised water on its own.
Never use chemical substances or detergents (e.g.
perfumed water, essences, descaling solution, etc).
Do not use mineral or other types of water (such as
rainwater or water for batteries or air conditioners
etc.).
Important!
If you use ltering devices, make sure the water obtained has
a neutral pH.
Using the appliance for the rst time

is empty. When lling the steam generator for the rst
time, it will take longer to heat up as the air must be
eliminated from the steam generator and replaced by the
water. During lling/heating it is normal for the pump to
make a noise.
The appliance will also run out of water much more quic-
kly than with subsequent lls.

smoke and an odour for several minutes. This is caused
by heating and subsequent drying of the sealers used in
assembling the steam generator and iron. You are recom-
mended to ventilate the room.
