3. Disconnect any telephone or network cables from the computer.
4. Disconnect your computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
5. Remove the system battery.
a. Ensure the keyboard is securely attached and the display is closed and latched before turning the computer over. See Closing the Display Panel.
Then place the computer upside down on the work surface.
b. Slide the battery-bay latch release lock on the bottom of the computer in the direction of the #1 arrow. The battery access door will pop up.
c. Using your thumbs, slide the battery in the direction of the #2 arrow by inserting one thumb into the recess next to the battery access door and
theotherthumbintotheindentionsurroundingthe#2.
d. Lift the battery straight up and out of the computer.
6. Press the power button to ground the system board.
7. Remove any installed ExpressCards or media memory cards. See Removing a Card.
Memory
You can increase your computer memory by installing memory modules on the system board. See Specifications for information on the memory supported by
your computer. Install only memory modules that are intended for your computer.
