Electricity
Do not touch the generator if you have wet hands.
Do not operate the generator in wet conditions.
Do not operate the generator near water.
Never connect two generators together.
Never connect the generator to any commercial power
outlet.
Make sure any extension cords used are in a safe con-
dition and of suf cient capacity for the task.
Ensure that the load on the generator falls within its
capacity as speci ed in the table before plugging in any
cords.
To prevent an electric shock, make sure to ground
the generator. Connect a piece of cable between the
ground terminal on the generator and an external
ground point.
Fire and burn hazards
The exhaust system gets hot enough to ignite some
materials:
- keep the generator at least 1 meter away from build-
ings and other equipment during operation.
- keep  ammable materials away from the generator.
The exhaust becomes very hot during operations and
remains hot for a while after stopping the engine:
- Let the engine cool before storing the generator in-
doors.
- Do not touch the hot exhaust with your hands.
Gasoline is extremely  ammable and is explosive un-
der certain conditions. Do not smoke or allow  ames or
sparks where the generator is refueled or where gaso-
line is stored.
Fuel vapors are extremely  ammable and may ignite
after the engine has started. Make sure that any spilled
fuel has been wiped up before starting the generator.
3. USE
BEFORE STARTING THE GENERATOR
Fill and check fuel level 2
Important. Only use a two-stroke mixture, in other words
unleaded petrol (octane level 92 and more) and two-stroke
oil mixed at a ratio of 50:1 (2%) to fuel the generator.
Remove any power cords
Turn power switches off
Do not over ll – leave air gap at top of fuel level
Always screw down fuel cap
Clean up any spilled fuel
Do not smoke while operating the generator
Always use caution!
Starting the generator 1
1. Turn on fuel tap (10).
2. Turn on engine switch (2).
3. Move choke lever (3) to closed position (to restart a
warm engine, leave the choke lever in open or half-
open position).
4. Pull slowly on the starter cord until it engages, then pull
sharply to start the engine (4).
5. Allow the engine to run until it warms up, and then move
the choke lever to the open position (3).
6. Plug in the power cord.
Stopping the generator 1
1. Unplug all cords
2. Turn engine switch to «OFF» (2)
3. Turn off fuel tap (10)
The generator is equipped with DC output (12 V / 5 A) that
allows to charge batteries through the cable supplied. Ob-
serve polarity (red lead to +, black lead to -).
4. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Daily (pre-operation check)
Check choke operation
Check recoil starter operation
3 Months or 50 hrs
Check condition of spark plug. Adjust gap and clean.
Replace if necessary.
Clean, replace if necessary.
6 Months or 100 hrs
Clean fuel tap and fuel tank  lter. Replace if neces-
sary.
Check  ttings and fasteners. Replace if necessary.
SERVICE – NOTES ON MAINTENANCE
Spark plug inspection 3
Disconnect the spark plug cap, and remove any dirt
from around the spark plug area.
Remove spark plug (11) with the plug spanner sup-
plied.
Inspect the spark plug. It should be a tan colour.
Measure the gap (distance contact point) with a suit-
able gauge. The gap should be 0.7-0.8 mm. Correct
the gap, if necessary, by carefully bending the side
electrode.
Replace the spark plug if the electrodes are worn, or if
the insulator is cracked or chipped.
Install the spark plug carefully, by hand, to avoid cross-
threading.
Place the spark plug with correct torque: 20 Nm.
Attach the spark plug cap.
Exhaust screen
Wait for exhaust to cool.
Exhaust screen (9) may be blocked up with carbon de-
posits.
Undo the screw cap and remove the exhaust screen.
Clean the screen with a wire brush and re t.
Replace exhaust screen if damaged.
