Electric analogue clock and end of cooking timer
(if fitted - command only the left oven)
It starts working the moment the cooker is connected to the electri-
cal power supply. First of all, make sure that the correct time is set.
To set the time, proceed as follows: press and turn the knob “A”
(fig.22) towards the left until the right time is set. If you go too far,
simply turn the knob clockwise (a safety device protects the clock
mechanisms). This clock can be used as a minute-minder or as a
end of cooking timer by turning the knob “A” anticlockwise, without
pressing it, until the marker lines up with the desired amount of time.
Once the time has elapsed the bell sounds continuously and
cooking ends.To stop the ringing turn the knob towards the left until
the marker lines up with the symbol of the crossed bell. To exclude
the timer and use just the clock function, turn the knob “A” on the dial
to the manual position. The minute-minder and the cooking timer
can operate for times up to 90 minutes.
Minute-minder knob (if fitted)
To use the minute-minder turn the corrsponding knob towards
the right (clockwise) for about a full rotation, then turn it back
(anticlockwise) until it is set at desired cooking time. When the
time has elapsed the bell sounds. The minute-minder marks
cooking time from 0 to 60 minutes (fig.23).
Using a Griddle Plate (optional extra)
Before using for the first time: wipe the surface of the griddle
plate with oil and heat so that the oil evaporates (repeat after
each use). Place the griddle plate on the central burner (fish or
Kwali burner). Pre-heat for 5 minutes. The control knob can be
turned to a lower position.
Caution: the Griddle wil be very hot when used.
Young children should be kept away from the appliance.
Plate Warming compartment
To access the compartment, open the door as shown in fig. 24,
pressing the centre of the door. Do not store dusters or other
flammable objects in the compartment.
The plate warming compartments are useful storage areas. They
get warm during use of the ovens and can be used to warm your
plates or dishes.
Using a pan set in a right-hand oven
For cooking operations requiring the use of the oven shelf, the tray
provided should be placed in the runners beneath the shelf, as
shown in fig. 25, in order to collect the drops of fat.
To grill using the PAN SET, the tray can be placed on the shelf with
the TRIVET inside the tray (fig. 25/A). Place the shelf on the runners
most suitable for the cooking procedure, bearing in mind that the
food should be about 5 centimetres (two inches) from the grill ele-
ment.
When using the turnspit (if present), it is best to place the shelf on
the bottom runners and place the tray on the shelf to collect the
drops of fat (fig. 25/B).
