Using the setup menu
The DVD players SETUP MENU is where you can configure
various settings related to the DVD functionality of this unit,
such as what type of TV you’re using, which languages you
prefer, parental control options and many more.
Though the SETUP MENU can be accessed during disc
playback, you must press the STOP key twice to have
access to all options.

Press SETUP to enter the SETUP MENU.

Use the ARROW keys to move around the menu, and
ENTER to confirm options and open sub-menus. To
exit, press the SETUP key.

TV TYPE
Default Setting : NTSC
You can setup your DVD Player to work with televisions based
on the NTSC and PAL standards as well as televisions designed
to function with both standards, or “AUTO” models. NTSC is
the standard TV system used in the USA, Canada, Japan and
many other countries. The PAL TV system is used in Europe,
Africa, and the Middle East, among other places. Refer to your
TV’s documentation to make sure which model you have.
VIDEO OUTPUT
Default Setting : S - VIDEO
Use the default setting of S - Video when making a
COMPOSITE or S - VIDEO connection. Composite is the
most common type supported on TV’s. To use the S - Video
connection, use an S - Video cable, not included, and switch
the TV’s video input setting to S - Video. For
PROGRESSIVE SCAN or COMPONENT VIDEO
OUTPUT you must first connect using either the composite or
S - Video connector and cable. Then enter change VIDEO
OUTPUT to YCbCr. Next select SCAN MODE for Interlaced
( component ) or Progressive Scan. Next connect the YUV
cables, not included, from the player to the TV. Then adjust the
Tv’s video input setting to correspond to the YUV input.

To Reset the DVD Player’s Video Mode Setting:
Warning: If you selected PROGRESSIVE for the SCAN
MODE and your TV does not support type of display, the
display may go blank and you will not be able to view the
Setup Menu to change back the video settings. If this
happens, Turn OFF (Standby) the player, Turn back ON
Player, Open Disc Tray and Press and hold the STOP button
on player for 5 Seconds to reset the Scan Mode.
