natural climate control solutions.

Please read these instructions prior

to using the appliance and save them

for future reference.

Ensuring the

appliance has adequate ventilation is

important in maintaining cooling

performance.

This Convair appliance is a powerful

evaporative cooler, that will give you

plenty of cool, fresh air in summer. Place

the appliance in front of an open door or

window so that it is drawing in fresh air.

Open a door or window opposite to

create cross-ventilation.

Safety

When using electrical appliances

please follow these precautions to

reduce the risk of fire, electrical

shock and injury to persons.

! This appliance is not intended

for use by young children or infirm

persons without supervision.

Do not use this appliance in a closed

room when only occupied by children.

Before connecting your

Convair cooler to an electrical outlet,

check that the required voltage shown

on the rating label is the same as your

power supply.

To avoid accidents and fire hazards,

keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas,

never put near heat registers, radiators

or stoves. Do not use this appliance if

the plug or cord is damaged.

Do not move the appliance

when it is full of water

Do not plug in the cord with

wet hands as electric shock may result.

This appliance is designed with a safety

feature so that if the rear panel is

removed the appliance will not operate.

Do not attempt to defeat this safety

feature.

Do not use this appliance outdoors.

Your Convair cooler

holds water so be sure to move it

carefully.

- it is advisable

to move it into position before filling it.

Always switch your Convair

cooler off and unplug it before filling it

with water, cleaning it or servicing the

appliance.

At the end of each season, or at least

monthly if heavily used, it is advisable to

carry out some simple maintenance on

your Convair cooler. Refer to the

Maintenance section.

Operation

1. Place the cooler in front of an open

window or door so that it is drawing

in fresh air.

2. Pour clean water into the opening at

the back of the appliance).

The maximum water capacity of the

Convair cooler is 13 litres. The

minimum amount of water required

to operate the pump is 1.9 litres. No

damage occurs to the a p p l i a n c e

when it is operated without water.
