3. AJUSTE DE LAS INTENSIDADES DE ESTIMULACIÓN
En un músculo estimulado, el número de bras que se trabajan depende de la intensidad de
la estimulación.
En el caso de programas que producen contracciones musculares potentes (contracciones tetánicas),
debe utilizar las intensidades de estimulación máximas (hasta 999), permaneciendo dentro de su umbral
de tolerancia, con el n de utilizar el máximo número de bras. El resultado obtenido en el músculo será
mayor cuanto mayor sea el número de bras que se trabajen. Durante una sesión es importante, por lo
tanto, tratar de aumentar la intensidad cada 3-5 contracciones.
En los otros programas, como recuperación, masaje, capilarización o incluso dolor muscular, que solo
inducen sacudidas musculares, debe aumentar gradualmente la intensidad de estimulación hasta obtener
sacudidas musculares claramente visibles.
Con los programas TENS, epicondilitis y tendinitis, debe aumentar gradualmente la intensidad hasta que
sienta una sensación de hormigueo debajo los electrodos.
4. PROGRESIÓN DE LOS CICLOS DE ESTIMULACIÓN
Es recomendable comenzar con el primer ciclo y pasar al siguiente cuando lo termine, normalmente
después de 4-6 semanas de estimulación con 3 sesiones semanales. También es importante haber
alcanzado intensidades de estimulación signicativas en las sesiones antes de pasar a otro ciclo.
Al nalizar el ciclo, puede comenzar uno nuevo o llevar a cabo el entrenamiento de mantenimiento de una
sesión por semana.
