Wheel / Axle / Hinges
At least twice a year - at
the beginning and at the end
of the season you should:
• Check the wheel bearing for
wear. These is done by grasping
the wheel like you would a
steering wheel and then try to
rock the wheel side to side. If
tightening is necessary you will
immediately feel it.
• If indeed tightening is necessary
you will need to remove the
wheel hub-cap and split pin, then
turn the axle nut inwards to
tighten the bearing until axle is
slightly braked.
Loosen again until the next split
pin hole - check bearing wear -
split pin is then refitted.
• The wheel hub is greased so that
up to ½ to 2/3 of the hub is filled
with grease.
• Check that the axle and tow bar
are thoroughly bolted to their
consoles.
• Grease all hinges and hand
wheels.
Also the big central hinge bet
ween the top and bottom of the
trailer.
The tent
The COMBI-
CAMP can be very
easily opened and closed
even in rainy weather. If you
had to pack in misty weather it
is advisable to open the trailer
as soon as possible to give it
fresh air and to dry the tent
canvas and the mattresses,
otherwise you may face mould
and consequently rot.
However, should signs of such
occur the only treatment is to
dry the attacked spot
thoroughly and then brush it
down, clean and re-impregnate
the canvas.
It is therefore important that
your COMBI-CAMP is not left
wet for longer periods than,
two days when closed.
Use of chemical cleaners is
not advisable.
Please note that mattress
covers should be dry-cleaned.
Normal dirt can be washed
with water adding a little vine
gar and a soft bush. More resi
stant dirt can often be moved
with the use of a vacuum clea-
ner.
The superstructure
Normal road dirt can be removed
by washing the trailer body with
soapy water and a soft brush. More
resistant dirt can often be moved
with a normal polish, but must not
contain cutting compound.
Be good to your COMBI-CAMP, this will serve both you and your
COMBI-CAMP best.A reasonable maintenance will ensure you a reliable
trailer tent for many years to come.
