9. The brewing procedure begins immediately.
10. The device has a drip stop, i. e. you can take the coffee pot off the hotplate and pour coffee
during the brewing procedure.
Please note that the coffee machine does not switch off automatically when you
remove the coffee pot from the hotplate during the brewing procedure. The water
continues to run through the lter. Place the coffee pot back onto the hotplate under
the discharge opening after no more than 30 seconds in order to prevent the lter
compartment from overowing!
11. After the brewing procedure, your coffee will be kept warm on the hotplate. The hotplate
does not switch off automatically.
12. Move the KAFFEE AN/AUS (COFFEE ON/OFF) switch to the "AUS" (OFF) position to
switch off the hotplate and the device.
13. Allow the device to cool down before you remove the permanent lter from the device
and dispose of the used coffee powder in the household waste.
14. Clean the permanent lter and the lter insert in the manner described in the "Cleaning"
chapter.
Cleaning
CAUTION!
Remove the plug from the mains socket before cleaning the device.
Danger of injury from hot device parts! In particular the hotplate and the steam nozzle can
become hot during use. Always allow the device to cool down before cleaning it.
Never immerse the device, the cable or the plug in water or other liquids.
To prevent faults with the device caused by limescale deposits, the device should be regu-
larly descaled every 2 to 3 months or if you notice a reduction in the ow of water.
Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These could damage
the surface.
After every use, you should dispose of the coffee powder in the permanent lter and in the
espresso lter in the household waste.
If it is necessary to clean the device, you should use a damp cloth. Then wipe the device
with a dry cloth to dry the device.
Clean the steam nozzle and the milk frother nozzle after every (!) use. Allow the steam
nozzle to cool down rst and then remove the milk frother nozzle and remove all milk
residues using a damp cloth.
Remove all detachable parts (lter insert, permanent lter, portalter, espresso lter, milk
frother nozzle, espresso pot, coffee pot and water drip tray) and clean them at regular in-
tervals with hot water and mild detergent. Only place the parts back into the device when
they are completely dry.
