Introduction
Dear Customer,
by buying the Cloer filter coffee maker you have
decided on a quality product complying with
the most modern development standard regar-
ding technology and functionality.
Make sure you acquaint yourself with the appli-
ance before and read the operating instructions
carefully.
We wish you pleasure with your new filter coffee
maker.
Setting up
Remove all packaging parts and, if applicable,
stickers, not the rating label.
Place the filter coffee maker on a dry, non-slip
and even surface.
Before using the first time
Read these instructions carefully before first use.
Prior to brewing coffee for the first time, run
the coffee maker with water only for one or two
times (omitting coffee powder and filter insert).
When filling the water tank with water, avoid
the MAX marking being exceeded.
Place the carafe with the filter insert on the „Keep
Warm“ plate and press the ON/OFF button.
Switch off the coffee maker after the brewing
process and pour away the water.
Safety instructions for operation
Use the coffee maker exclusively for making
coffee. Do not fill other liquids or foodstuffs in
the coffee maker.
Do not immerse the coffee maker in water or
any other liquid!
ATTENTION: When filling the water reservoir
with water, avoid the MAX marking being
exceeded. A possible bubbling over can cause
a danger of scald. Also water might be
running out of the overflow hole.
Brewing coffee
Plug cord into a standard electrical outlet.
Fill the reservoir with cold water.
- Either you remove the water reservoir and
keep it open with your thumb. Fill the
reservoir with desired amount of water using
its markings inside.
- Or you use the carafe‘s scale to fill the
reservoir with water.
NOTE: Your coffee machine is designed for a
maximum of 5 cups. The bottom of the metal
ring corresponds to the 5-cups-marking.
5 cups
= MAX
NOTE: When filling the water reservoir
with water, avoid the MAX marking being
exceeded. A possible bubbling over can
cause a danger of scald. Also water might be
running out of the overflow hole.
Place the filter insert on the empty glass carafe.
Place a filter bag # 1x2 into the filter holder and
add the desired amount of ground coffee.
Place the filter lid on the filter insert.
After that place the glass carafe with the filter
insert on the “Keep Warm“ plate and switch on
the appliance.
Switch off the coffee maker after the brewing
process.
NOTE: The filter lid fits on the filter insert as
well as on the glass carafe. After finishing the
brewing process you can place the filter lid on
the glass carafe.
Decalcification
First pour approximately 3 cups of water and
approximately 75 ml of citric acid or vinegar into
the coffee maker and switch the machine on.
After decalcifying, rinse the machine by ope-
rating it 2 times with 3 cups of clear water and
switch off the appliance.
Note: Regular decalcification (every 3 - 4 weeks)
guarantees a constant coffee quality, keeps
power consumption low and extends durabi-
lity of your coffee maker. The degree of calci-
fication depends on the local water hardness.
No warranty claim in case of faulty function-
ing due to calcification!
