Select a suitable location for the radio recorder, such as a dry, fl at, non-slip
surface on which it is easy to operate the machine.
Ensure that the radio recorder is suffi ciently ventilated!
Power supply
Connect the power cable supplied (e.g. battery compartment) to a properly
installed 230 V/50 Hz safety power socket and the AC IN mains connector on the
back of the machine. Ensure that the voltage is the same as that indicated on the

Note: After use always remove the mains plug from the socket, as even when the

Insert the plug of the enclosed 12 V adapter (cigarette lighter adapter) into the
DC-12 V socket (on the back) of the television set.
Connect the power cable to a 12 V direct current (DC) socket such as the

Inserting the Batteries (not supplied)
Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the television set.
Insert 10 x 1.5 V batteries of type UM-2 C as depicted on the bottom of the
battery compartment. Ensure the correct polarity! If the batteries are inserted
the wrong way round, this may destroy the equipment!
Close the battery compartment.
Note: If you do not use the machine for a prolonged period, or operate it using a
mains adapter, the batteries should be removed in order to prevent battery acid
