7. By pressing the STOP/EJ. key (24) again the lid of the cassette deck opens.
8. For brief interruption of the playing, press the PAUSE button (25). Press again
to resume the playing.
Recording a cassette
1. Insert an audiocassette into the compartment with the tape facing forward and
the side you wish to listen to facing upwards. Make sure that the cassette is
not protected against dubbing (the copy protection tab on the upper edge of
the cassette must not be broken).
2. Select the recording source with the function button (13) and if necessary start
this source. You record from the source of sound to which you are listening.
The recording level is controlled automatically. Alterations to the tone and
volume will not alter the recording.
3. Press the REC button (20). The recording will begin. All previous recordings
will automatically be erased.
4. Playing can be interrupted briefl y with the PAUSE key (25) or stopped with the
STOP/EJ. key (24).
Playing CDs
This is how you play a CD
1. Set the selector switch (13) to the „MP3/CD“ position.
2. Press the ̆
key (11) to open the CD deck cover (12).
3. The CD compartment opens upwards. Now insert an audio CD with the printed
side facing forwards onto the central cone and close the CD compartment by
hand.
4. After a few seconds the total number of tracks on the CD appears in the dis-
play (26).
5. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button (4) in order to play the CD. The CD will play
from the fi rst title. The current track and the symbol ̈ appear on the display.
6. Set the desired volume using the VOLUME control (9).
Note: If a disc is incorrectly inserted, or no disc has been inserted, the numbers
„- - - “, and the word „no“ appear in the display.
Please note:
There are a number of different recording and compression methods, as well as
quality differences between CDs and self-recorded CDs.
Furthermore, the music industry does not adhere to fi xed standards (copy protec-
tion).
For these reasons it is possible that in rare cases there are problems with the
playback of CDs and MP3 CDs. This is not a malfunction of the device.
