General Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the
appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the
warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal
packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass
on the operating instructions.
The appliance is designed exclusively for private use
and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t
for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is
designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources
of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid)
and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance
and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the
plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and
remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you
should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off
or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not
the lead).
Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular
basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always
contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure
to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by
the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed
person and with a cable of the same type.
Use only original spare parts.
Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instruc-
tions“.
Children and Frail Individuals
In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all
packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their
reach.
Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as
there is a danger of suffocation!
In order to protect children or frail individuals from the ha-
zards of electrical equipment, please ensure that this device
is only used under supervision. This device is not a toy. Do
not allow small children to play with it.
Special Safety Instructions for this Machine
Place the coffee machine on a fi rm and at surface. Position
the device such that it cannot tip over.
Fill the water tank only with cold water!
Never open the fi lter cover while the coffee is percolating as
otherwise this may cause burns.
Steam is emitted from above the fi lter holder during opera-
tion! This may lead to the formation of condensation on the
upper cover of the device. This is normal and does not affect
the correct functioning of the device!
Do not place the machine directly next to a gas or electric
cooker or any other source of heat.
Do not move the machine when it is in operation.
Before you open the fi lter cover, switch the device off and
allow it to cool down for at least 30 seconds!
Danger of burns! During operation the temperature of
the exposed surface may be very hot.

Before Initial Use
Remove all the packaging and transport protections from the
device. Wipe all the parts with a moist cloth to remove all the
dust that may have deposited on and in the device during
transport. Then mount the device again by proceeding in the
opposite order.
Carry out 2 or 3 cycles with cold water only to clean the
device before brewing the fi rst cup of coffee.
Clean the permanent fi lter and the cups in soapy water.
Electrical connection
Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz protective
contact socket. The details can be found on the appliance’s
nameplate.
Make sure that the appliance is switched off. (The light in
the
I/O
switch is off.)
Operating
1. Unwind the mains lead completely. Open the water tank lid.
Fill the machine to the number of cups required with cold
water. The water level must be between the MIN.- and MAX.
marks; the markings are to be found in the water tank. Only
ll in water up to the MAX mark.
2. Push the coffee spout to the side in order to be able to
remove the fi lter. Then pull the permanent fi lter out. Fill the
permanent fi lter with coffee powder. Reinsert the permanent
lter. Push the spout back over the fi lter.
3. Place the cup(s) on the tray and close the lid of the water
tank. If you are using only one cup, please place it exactly in
the circular mark on the cup tray.
4. Position the switch in position „1“. The brewing is started.
After the coffee has brewed you can remove the cup(s).
5. Switch off the appliance (the LED in the switch is off).
Descaling
De-scaling is necessary when the brewing time increases
substantially.
This appliance should be de-scaled on a regular basis,
depending on the frequency of use and the quality of your
water (i.e. hardness, mineral contents).
