Putting the device into operation

• Remove all the packaging and transport protections from the device. Wipe all

the parts with a moist cloth to remove all the dust that may have deposited on

and in the device during transport. Then mount the device again by proceeding

in the opposite order.

• Carry out 2 or 3 cycles with cold water only to clean the device before brewing

the ﬁ rst cup of coffee.

Electrical connection

• Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz protective contact socket. The

details can be found on the appliance’s nameplate.

• Make sure that the appliance is switched off (The light in the I/O switch is off).

Operating

1. Open the water tank lid.

2. Now ﬁ ll with enough fresh cold water for the desired number of cups. You can read

the level on the water level display. Do not overﬁ ll the appliance (max. 14 cups).

3. Close the water tank lid.

4. Open the ﬁ lter cover. Fold the paper ﬁ lter (size 1x4) along the lower folding

line and then place it in the ﬁ lter funnel. Please ensure that the ﬁ lter bag is

longer than the ﬁ lter funnel. Then ﬁ ll it with coffee powder.

Note: Due to the fast brewing process and the high temperature, less

coffee powder than normal is required (max. one heaped teaspoon per

small cup).

5. Close the lid until it locks in place.

6. Place the pot evenly on the base. Make sure that the top of the pot is unscrewed.

7. Switch on the appliance (the LED in the switch lights up).

8. Your appliance is provided with a drip stop. By removing the pot, before the

water runs through the ﬁ lter completely, it avoids that the coffee drips on the

base. If there is still water in the tank or ﬁ lter, make sure that the pot is placed

back under the ﬁ lter to avoid overﬂ owing.

9. When the coffee stops ﬂ owing into the ﬁ lter, you can remove the pot.

10. Switch off the appliance (the LED in the switch is off).

11. When pouring the coffee out of the pot, turn the lid through a half turn if you

wish to pour slowly and a complete turn if you wish to pour quickly. To keep

the coffee warm, put the lid back on (The dot on the lid is pointing towards the

handle).

De-scaling

• De-scaling is necessary when the brewing time increases substantially.

• Use only commercially available citrus acid-based de-scaler. Follow the recom-

mended instructions for use.
