Electrical connection
Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the
line voltage match.
Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety
socket, 230 V/50 Hz.
Display
When the device is switched on the words „OFF“ and „STAND-
BY“ appear in the display.
Press the temperature button to switch on the different
levels:
low temperature for synthetics, silk
medium temperature for wool
high temperature for cotton, linen
MAX highest temperature
ޥ NOTE:
The word „STANDBY“ fl ashes in the display until the
temperature is reached on the soleplate.
Press the temperature button again to switch off the irony.
The words „OFF“ and „STANDBY“ appear in the display.
AUTO SHUT OFF
AUTO SHUT OFF refers to the ability of the device to switch
itself off.
Horizontal: If the device is not moved in this position for
approx. 30 seconds it switches itself off. A buzzer is heard
and the word „OFF“ fl ashes. You only need to move the
device and it switches itself back on.
Vertical: If the device is not moved in this position for ap-
prox. 8 minutes it switches itself off. A buzzer is heard and
the word „OFF“ fl ashes. You only need to move the device
and it switches itself back on.
ޥ NOTE:
If the iron does not „wake up“ immediately after it has switched
itself off, it is possible that the movements are too smooth.
This may be remedied by shaking the iron briefl y.
Ironing without steam (steam jet regulator on „min“)
ޥ NOTE:
This device should only be used for ironing garments and
textiles!
Place the iron on its stand (9).
Turn the steam regulator (4) to „min“.
Sort out the garments according to their ironing temperatu-
res. Start with the lower temperatures.
Set a level with the temperature button. The word „STAND-
BY“ fl ashes in the display. As soon as it shuts off, the set
temperature is reached. Now you can start to iron.
Always pull the plug out of the socket after using the iron.
Steam Ironing
For this a high temperature is needed (cotton, linen).
The quantity of steam can be regulated using the steam
quantity regulator (4).
Extra steam can be added with the steam jet function „
“ (3).
WARNING: The steam is hot. Danger of scalding!
ANTI-DRIP-SYSTEM
When ironing at low temperatures, make sure that you
reduce the quantity of steam or iron without steam.
If the temperature is too low water may leak from the
soleplate.
The appliance features an „anti-leakage function“ which
deactivates the steam mode if the temperature chosen is
insuffi cient for steam operation.
Refi lling the water tank
Always disconnect the mains plug before refi lling water.
Set the steam control (4) to „min“ (no steam). Open the lid
of the refi ll inlet (6) and carefully pour in the water. Do not
exceed the MAX line as marked on the water reservoir.
Spray Function („
“)
In order to moisten a section to be ironed press the spray button
(5).
Vertical Steam
This can be used to produce a jet of steam in a vertical direction.
ޥ NOTE:
To avoid excess water leaking from the soleplate do not
operate the steam burst for more than 5 seconds without
interruption.
Replacing the Anti-Calcium Filter
Among the accessories for the device you will fi nd a replace-
ment cartridge for the anti-calcium fi lter. During normal use this
should be replaced approximately every six months.
On the back of the device you will fi nd
the lock (b) for the water tank. On this
lock there is a retainer (a) with the
anti-calcium fi lter.
Pull the retainer to separate the
components from one another.
Replace the cartridges and re-assemble the components.
Cleaning and Storage
Always remove the mains lead before cleaning!
Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth.
Clean the iron with a slightly humid cloth.
Always return the steam regulator to the „min“ position after
use and empty the water tank in order to prevent any leaks.
The device must never be immersed in water!
