S : Steering lock

To free the steering, turn the steering wheel slightly at the same time as

turning the key ; avoid using undue force.

A : Accessories

This enables you to use certain electrical accessories. The battery charge

warning lamp comes on.

M : Ignition

The following warning lamps should light up : STOP, coolant level and

temperature, battery charge, handbrake, engine oil pressure, ABS, driver’s

seat belt not fastened, airbag, depollution system.

Depending on the version of your vehicle, the following warning lamps

should also come on temporarily :

SensoDrive gearbox, electric power steering, water-in-diesel-fuel sensor.

If these warning lamps do not illuminate, this indicates a malfunction.

D : Starter

Release the key as soon as the engine has started. Never operate when

the engine is running.

These warning lamps are tested with the ignition key in the ignition on position.
