Using the Battery Pack (Optional)
Introduction
Your modem may include a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery back to provide stand-
by operation in the event of an AC power failure. You can replace the battery pack
without the use of any tools.
WARNING:
There is danger of explosion if the battery is mishandled or incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same type of battery. Do not disassemble it or
attempt to recharge the battery outside the system. Do not crush, puncture,
dispose of in a fire, short external contacts, or expose to water or other liquids.
Dispose of the battery in accordance with local regulations and instructions
from your service provider.
Installing the Battery Pack
1 Disconnect all wires and cables and unplug the power supply from the modem.
2 To attach the modem to the battery
pack, you must first remove the plastic
foot located on the side edge of the
modem. Rotate the foot on your modem
counterclockwise to the second click.
3 Firmly lift the foot out of the hole on the
bottom of the modem. The foot can be
discarded or retained for future use.
Important! Be sure that the foot is
aligned as shown before you try to
remove it from the modem. Otherwise,
you may break the prong on the
modem foot.
4 On the right side of the battery pack is a slide-locking switch marked Lock and
Unlock. Slide the switch to the Unlock position.
