Welche Arten von Servicekonten benötigeich?
Je nach den Funktionen, die Ihr Serviceanbieter zur Verfügung stellt, müssen Sie
eines oder beide der folgenden Konten einrichten:
Ein Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetkonto, wenn Ihr Kabelmodem eine
Internetverbindung unterstützt
Ein Konto für Telefondienste, wenn ihr Kabelmodem digitale Telefondienste unterstützt
In einem der folgenden Abschnitte erfahren Sie mehr über die Dienste, die Sie
möglicherweise einrichten müssen.
Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetkonto
Wenn Sie kein Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetkonto haben, richtet Ihr
Serviceanbieter ein Konto für Sie ein und fungiert nun als Ihr Internetdienstanbieter.
Wenn Sie Zugriff auf das Internet haben, können Sie E-Mail-Nachrichten senden
und empfangen, auf das World Wide Web zugreifen und sonstige Internetdienste in
Anspruch nehmen.
Sie müssen Ihren Serviceanbieter über Ihr Kabelmodem informieren, um die
Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetfunktionen nutzen zu können, die dieses Produkt
bietet. Unter Informationen, die Ihr Serviceanbieter benötigt (auf Seite 12) erfahren
Sie, wie Sie die Informationen finden, die Ihr Serviceanbieter benötigt, um für Ihr
Kabelmodem ein Hochgeschwindigkeits-Internetkonto einzurichten
Zur Einrichtung des Service müssen Sie die Seriennummer und die MAC-Adresse
des Kabelmodems kennen. Unter Informationen, die Ihr Serviceanbieter benötigt
(auf Seite 12) erfahren Sie, wie Sie diese Informationen finden.
Informationen, die Ihr Serviceanbieter benötigt
Sie müssen Ihrem Serviceanbieter die folgenden Informationen geben, die Sie auf
dem Strichcodeetikett an Ihrem Gerät finden:
Die Seriennummer (S/N) des Kabelmodems. Die Seriennummer ist eine Folge
von neun Ziffern.
Die CM Media Access Control- (CM MAC) Adresse des Kabelmodems. Die CM
MAC-Adresse ist eine Folge von 12 Hexadezimalzahlen.
Die folgende Abbildung zeigt ein typisches Strichcodeetikett, das Bild kann von dem
tatsächlichen Etikett an Ihrem Gerät abweichen.
