WARNINGS FOR REPLACING
THE BATTERIES AND PROPER
DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES
1. Always use new batteries of the
type and specifications indicated in
this manual: do not use old batteries
together with new batteries or with
batteries of different types.
2. Do not use rechargeable batteries,
as these may be of inferior quality
and duration. The use of rechargea-
ble batteries could compromise the
device’s performance.
3. Dispose of the used batteries
promptly, keeping them out of the
reach of children and away from any
heat sources.
4. For environmental protection pur-
poses, the used batteries must be
disposed of at appropriate collection
sites and in compliance with the cur-
rent local or national laws, policies
and/or regulations. The batteries
utilized comply with the European
directive 2006/66/EC, and the rela-
tive warnings must be observed for
their disposal.
5. The batteries must be kept strictly
out of the reach of children, as their
ingestion could result in poisoning
and/or other serious health risks.
6. Is recommended to remove the
batteries whenever the device is not
expected to be used for an extended
period of time.
7. The device does not have a shelf life
and has a typical service life of three
years. The batteries used inside the
device, however, have a shelf life of
6 months (half a year): electrolyte
leakage could take place once the
batteries’ shelf life has expired. The
batteries must be replaced once
their foreseen service life has been
reached (1000 measurements). If
in doubt, or to request clarifications,
please contact your local distributor.
