Collimatie
De optische prestaties van uw telescoop zijn direct afhankelijk
van de collimatie; de uitlijning van alle optische elementen in
het optische systeem van de telescoop. Uw NexStar telescoop
is in de fabriek reeds correct gecollimeerd. Het kan echter zijn
dat de collimatie tijdens het transport van uw telescoop
verlopen is, hij moet dan opnieuw worden gecollimeerd.
Het enige optische element dat hiervoor ingesteld hoeft te
worden is de stand van de secundaire spiegel. (Tevens het
enige instelbare element).
Om de collimatie van uw telescoop te controleren heeft u een
lichtbron nodig. Een heldere ster in de buurt van het zenit is
ideaal. Zorg ervoor dat uw telescoop is uitgelijnd en dat het
automatisch volgen actief is. Als u de telescoop niet aan wilt
zetten dan kunt u de telescoop ook met de hand richten op de
Poolster. De Poolster beweegt zo weinig aan de hemel dat hij
in het beeld van het oculair zal blijven staan.
Voordat u met het collimatie proces begint dient uw
telescoop even warm als de omgevingstemperatuur te zijn.
Laat de telescoop minimaal 45 minuten afkoelen als hij vanuit
een warmere of koudere omgeving buiten gezet wordt.
Gebruik tijdens het collimatieproces een gemiddelde tot hoge vergroting (b.v. een 12mm tot 6mm oculair). Om de
collimatie goed te kunnen beoordelen is het van belang dat u de heldere ster exact in het midden van het beeld plaatst.
Draai de ster langzaam naar beide kanten uit focus om de symmetrie van de ster te kunnen beoordelen. Als de ster uit
focus een beeld laat zien wat niet symmetrisch is (zie figuur 8-2 hieronder), dan is het nodig om de telescoop te collimeren.
Om een goede collimatie te bereiken dient u de schroefjes (Collimation screws in figuur 8-2) in de secundaire spiegelhouder
losser of vaster te draaien om de ster in het beeldveld in de richting van de afwijking te draaien. Om bij de
collimatieschroefjes te komen moet u het afdekkapje van de secundaire spiegelhouder verwijderen. Dit kapje kunt u
voorzichtig met een recht schroevendraaiertje verwijderen.
Draai tijdens het collimeren de schroefjes slechts in kleine stappen en centreer de ster indien nodig na elke stap opnieuw in
het beeldveld voordat u verder gaat met een andere schroef.
Volg deze stappen om het collimeren eenvoudig te maken:
1. Terwijl u door het oculair kijkt draait u de ster uit focus totdat u een ringpatroon ziet, met een donker centrum
(zie figuur 8-2). Centreer deze uit focus ster in het oculair en let op hoe het donkere centrum verschuift.
2. Houd uw vinger langs de rand van de telescoop voor de lens, let op dat u de lens niet aanraakt. Uw vinger zou
zichtbaar moeten zijn in het beeld. Schuif uw vinger langs de rand van de lens totdat deze in het beeld wijst naar
het smalste deel van het ringpatroon.
3. Zoek de collimatieschroef die zich het dichtst bij uw vinger bevindt. Dit is de schroef waaraan u als eerste moet
draaien. (Als uw vinger precies tussen twee collimatieschroeven valt, dan zult u aan de schroef moeten draaien
die aan de andere kant van de houder zit dan uw vinger.)
