KRAMP PREVENTIE
Wanneer? Voor kramp in de kuiten die spontaan, in rust of na langdurige
spierinspanningen kan optreden.
Waarom? De kramp kan gedeeltelijk het gevolg zijn van een onbalans in de
bloedcirculatie en een vertraging in de celuitwisseling in de spieren.
Hoe? Het programma bestaat uit twee sequenties. Eerst 8 Hz om de
bloedstroom te verhogen en de haarvaten te ontwikkelen; daarna 3 Hz
om de spiertonus te ontspannen en de patiënt een gevoel van welzijn te
geven. Sequenties 1 en 2 worden vier keer herhaald.
Elektroden Plaats elektroden op de kuitspieren (musculi gastrocnemii) en op de
kniezenuw. Zie Plaatsing van de elektroden.
Intensiteit De maximaal verdraagbare stimulatie-energie, een van de sleutelfactoren
voor de effectiviteit van de behandeling. Hoe hoger de stimulatie-
energie, hoe groter het aantal werkende spiervezels (motorische
eenheden).
